User Stories and Comments
The following are comments left about Flannel shirts from site visitors such as yourself. They are not spell checked or reviewed for accuracy. in the 90's, flannel shirts with long shirt tails was popular with boys of all ages, girls of all ages, and older women, but not older men. it was also preferred to turn the shirt backwards if it had large areas of writing (or symbols)on it, so the writing would be on the back(unless the large area of writing or large logo was the name brand advertisement of a designer brand such as Tommy Hilfiger
I wore flannel a lot, one time I was pulled out by the counselor to see if I had enough money for other clothes! But yeah, I never realized they were a fashion. My little fifth-grade mind just knew that my shirts were free, and that that was awesome.
I still have one of my flannels and I still wear it occasionally. The other thing to do was to tie your flannel around your waist. This could be done while wearing a leather jacket if desired.
I still wear all the stuff mentioned on here. A little behind the times, am I? No wonder I've never been considered for best dressed at school... Oh well, I am liking it.
It it is your style, lacey, its just your style. Who cares about being behind the times!
I've been wearing flannels since I was in the 4th grade :) they are the best. Cheap, but they last a long time.
AHHH! TOTALLY forgot about those plaid flannels, I think I was a little young, but now that I think about it, I did do that.
those are totally coming back! I see boys and girls, but mostly boys like hiugh school and junior high age, wearing them all the time! it makes me really happy! :] But i am looking for some 90s clothes to buy for my friend for her birthday. she really wants some for some reason. haha. any suggestions??
I collect Buffalo Plaid flannels, like the ones in the picture. Hehehehe, I love my flannel shirts.
I loved my flannels too! I used to think I was in Alice in Chains or something, because my favourite trick was baggyish torn faded blue jeans, green & black flannel shirt tied around my waist, tight black band t-shirt (I was skinnier then and could pull that off) black leather Bike jacket and a backwards baseball cap. Geez I was a cool looking guy back then, wish I could still do that now! :)
these ROCK! they r soo back now. i have a grey/white/black one with a black hood and it is so cool. get comments all the time. so much on here is hot again its awsome. gotto love the nineties!

I still wear flannel. Then again, I'm stuck in the 90's hardcore.
I also still wear flannel shirts to this day, not because of being stuck in the 90s (okay, maybe a little bit) but most of all because... geez flannel shirts ROCK MY SOCKS, that's why! Also they really go great with my leather jacket when tied around my waist.

Everyone had one, pearl jam, alice in chains, and everybody! Haha! They are back. I'm stuck in 90's grunge. At work when my ipod plays over the loud speakers everyone says is this 90's day? haha!
Flannel shirts are still worn in Australia all throughout the year! they are awesome!
To the people who said they are behind the times, don't worry. Flannel and plaid shirts are coming back!

right now flannel shirts are in style.
I am going out friday to buy a freaken flannel shirt now and thats the only shirt im going to wear!! Kurt Cobain is definitely my Idol so-to-speak... I love flannel shirts..I was born when In Utero came out lol...
I was wearing those to school in the 80's when no one else did. They are comfortable and warm so whether they're the fashion or not I still wear them.
It was pretty silly when grunge was hot and the
models were wearing them on the runway. When I saw that I thought, it's the beginning of the end...
UGHH 90's flannel screams kurt cobain! love it.
This was all I wore at school in the 90's! Flannel shirts with black pants.
Yea, I was born in 96 and I'm a 13 year old girl but I wear flannels with band t-shirts and dark flare jeans, sometimes ripped.... I hate fashion anyway, and I prefer 90s and 70s fashions to today's.
my parents were both hippies, but also liked grunge music and stuff...they are very open minded...and had nothing against it that i wore flannel shirts and ripped jeans, not to forget my holy skateboard! :D
I have lots of flannels. So warm and soft. Perfect for fall days before you need to break out the winter jacket. Black watch plaid is my favorite.
*Sigh* There was always something about the boys that wore big flannels that made me drool. Oh how I miss the days when guys were more casual, these days, it takes guy longer to get ready than the girls, lol!
Flannel shirts are back my friends. Especially big in hip hop culture. I used to wear them and will probably get some more come winter.
Scew Hip Hop/Rap culture! Flannel Shirts belong to the Grunge/Alt Rock '90s culture! I still wear mine and still buy them. I admit, I'm stuck in the '90s, still listening to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chain, Stone temple Pilots, Hole, Screamming Trees and many more. That's were flannel belongs. Forever Grunge!
Born in 95' I truly missed this time. the 00's pissed me off. my memories of the nineties are better then the ones i got from the 00's.
i realized about 4 years ago that 90s were the best. which is why i wear my flannels, jeans, waffle shirts, and adjustable flat rims.
i wanna go back and be born in 95 to live my glory days in the 90s!!!!
I think that the lameness of fashion in the 00's proved that the 90's were that last great decade. And I noticed flannel shirts are back in style! I practically lived in just two or three flannels back in the day.
Been sportin the plaids since toddler life. Can't live without em!!!
ANd yes they are definitely back in style. NEVER FORGET YOUR ROOTS :)
I remember I even bought a flannel at abercrombie & fitch in 1995/6. It was a cool brown one -- very Cobain.
flannel shirts are yuk! i think jeggings are cool! (leggings that look like jeans, they are really compfy!!)
A very sad and forgettable era in style and music. The sludge that came from Seattle and their goofy clothes were a joke. Good riddance.
I still very much dress grungy. The flannels with ripped faded blue jeans and. Converse all stars.
Plaid flannel unbuttoned, straight leg jeans with rips in them, with the sexy black doc martens :) can't wait for December decades day in my school senior year, going back to the 90s
Their coming back. and now fgfirls wear them. My finace wears them like in the winter and early to mid late apring
1994 with shorts. 20 years later back in style with jeans and cowboy boots.
Actually I have been a turtleneck guy from my childhood. But one day I found out that it turns me on to see other guys wearing a turtleneck under a button-up shirt. So I enjoyed the 90's when it became fashionable to wear flannel shirts over turtlenecks. 20 years later it's still one of my favorite winter looks: A white (or off-white) turtleneck, and over that a plaid flannel shirt tucked into corduroy jeans, with just the top button unfastened, but sometimes I hide the turtleneck by buttoning the flannel shirt all the way up.
Ugh! I miss my Flannel shirt sooo much! I drove my mother nuts by wearing it everywhere. She finally threw it out on me when she realized the full sleeve had become a 3/4 sleeve. That thing was so damn soft and I have yet to find one that I like since.
My Finace love these he wears them October through late May but I wear the short sleeve flannels
I use to have a ton of them
I still wear flannel shirts I like them better than hoodies.
