Description: In the early 90's there were these t-shirts that featured popular cartoon characters(Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz, Mickey Mouse, Garfield to name a few) dressed in hip-hop attire. Everywhere you looked, everyone was wearing them. It started out with Looney Tunes characters, then progressed onto other popular cartoons (Disney, Garfield, Peanuts).

The following are comments left about Hip-hop cartoon character T-shirts from site visitors such as yourself. They are not spell checked or reviewed for accuracy. they are really coming back, especially among teenage girls
Oh good lord, I hope not! Those were HIDEOUSSS. I had a Tasmanian Devil one. It was a christmas present from a well-meaning uncle. Well-meaning but misguided.
wow, I remember a pair of overall shorts with these on them? (i think it was, bugs bunny, tweety, & sylvester) I shudder at the thought of it now, but I guess I can forgive myself due to the fact I was about 9 or 10 at the time.
OMG I had a tweety bird shirt that said "Whatever" when I was about 10 or 12. Except tweety bird was dressed as a hip-hop girl. But tweetybird was a boy, right?
they really are coming back.
i know some boys that waer them a lot now.
I used to have a turquoise pillow with the Tasmanian Devil in backwards hip-hop attire on it. Doesn't get much better than that! LOL!
Of course teenage girls are wearing them.....they were born in the 90s and wore these clothes when they were growing up...but i think its ridiculous to wear barney on a shirt when u r 17.
i was pretty young in the early part of the 90's, but i wore them all the time in neon colors. with funny backgrounds and sometimes stuff sticking out of them
idk wat ya'll talkin about this stuff is still in the brand is called lot29
Haha, I hated these soooo much.
Now, they're sort of coming back with "gangsta" boys... they're these shirts that are always at the farmer's market with really random cartoon characters (including newer ones like Spongebob, and video game characters like Mario). They have something to do with that lifestyle, like with money or bling or pimpin' or whatever, and often have rhinestones or studs all over the shirt.
They posess the dubious honor of being tackier than the nineties' incarnation.
I didn't know these were from the early nineties..too young I guess. I just know that when I see em nowadays I think they're so ugly!
Emma Hip-Hop isn't all about being "gangsta" or pimpin', if you take time to just listen to the music, you'll be able to understand the meaningful concept of the Hip-Hop culture, instead of just being quick to judge.
people still wear these, its one of those styles that never went away
I shared my last name with a specific looney tune, so my friends were always drawin' pics like this for me, lol! Cute at first, but got rediculous later....
I was completely obsessed with sylvester. I had the hip hop looney toons organiser, shirts, hats, everything. I was about 12 though. I WAS COOL AT THE TIME!
I had a really baggy one with Tweety Bird. I also had pants to match! :D
omg! those were the stupidest freakin item of clothing ever! well i'm sure i can think of more but seriously sooo dumb! just like those lil'homies toys ahahahah....aweful
This is a redneck staple where I'm from. Especially the Garfield ones.
I had so many of them! I still have them; however, I don't wear them, but damn, it brings back so many memories.
wow. my mom had one of these. but it was on a fanny pack.
WOW!! THey are coming back! I have 20 cartoon tee's and I'm 14.
OMG>>> i had that exact same turquoise pillow with Taz on it! I def thought I was the coolest cuz i had one til I moved to a new place and my new friends told me it was stupid. okay,,, they were right :)
believe it or not they came back then they went out of stlye and now there coming back again
Omg I had a Taz one too! Not only were they on T-shirts but on Duraceal to cover your school books!! I had glitter duraceal too lol.

I saw the Bugs and Taz one re-released at Wal-mart.
Haha, every cartoon past looney toons just didn't do it right. ):

Oh God, I had the most hideous Tweety bird one... ugh...
I have a Spongebob one. Spongebob is sportin' a bling headband and grille.
Does anybody have an over-sized (at least 33-34 inches collar to hem length) , white, 'gangster'/'hip hop' Tweety t-shirt? I am looking to purchase one and cannot find one anywhere! email:ea86273n(at)pace(dot)edu
