Along with being caffeinated Storm was marketed as being, “Smooth.” Which meant it had less carbonation than most sodas. Which in retrospect seems like an odd strategy and I’m not surprised we haven’t seen it repeated. Still Storm had a particular flavor that was less crisp and more syrupy than most sodas in this segment. It mixed well as a 50-50 with Mountain Dew, creating a beverage that was popular in my friend group as Mountain Storm. Mixed with another late 90s staple, Crave powdered candy the mixture turned nearly black and really gave the ol’ kidneys something to work on.
