They came out in 90-91 just before Super Nintendo came out. They came in a few flavors, in really little cans. I beleive to put in kids lunch pails. I remember Yoshi Lime, Mario Cherry, Peach Starwberry, Luigi Berry.

They were produced by Faygo/Shasta in the early 90's. There were four flavours: Yoshi Apple, Mario Punch, Princess Toadstool Cherry, and Luigi Berry. My dad worked for Faygo at the time, and I believe I still have a case of them in the basement.
my fav was mario ball sweat
u rock!!!
this stuff was awesome my step mom worked at a party store and she would let me take some home with me when i went too work with her lol great stuff, good old time lol
my goodness i miss this soda sooo much !! i went to the corner store for those sodas like everyday ! they were short cans with the picture of each character n flavor ..... ok this really took me back !
Me and my friends would travel miles away on our bikes to the one gas station that carried these cans. They were the best but they only had Luigi and Mario flavors. Luigi berry was the best. You can compare the flavor to the Mountain Dew High Voltage Blast that's out now. What I wouldn't give to have these cans back.
Helter, did they really have a Mario ball sweat flavor or are you just pulling our leg?
