Taco Bell special in the late-nineties featuring spicy beans and rice and about a pound of cheese. Best food they ever produced, pulled after about two years.

I have been to over a dozen Taco Bell's during the last decade inquiring about the Three Cheese Melt. No one know's what I am talking about. I was hoping that one day I will run into a wiley veteran that will be able to whip one up for me. But the quest continues.
I miss it too, it was the best thing they ever had (and I love TB). Me and my friends talk about it all the time. If they ever brought it back, I'd go buy five immediately.
Yes. I love this too. But when I ask about it nobody remembers. My husband is an RGM at Taco Bell and he doesn't rememeber it either and neither do the other managers. Weird.
I remember these . . . Oh how I remember these. 95-96 or 97 I believe. As cyclical as fast food places are, I can't believe that they haven't made a comeback!
Holy smokes, I boycotted Taco Bell for about a year when they took these off the menu! I would order three and a soda every time, and the one time I ordered, they said they didn't carry them anymore. I turned around and walked out haha. Previous poster is correct - 1996/96... I miss you 3 cheese melt!!!
They we're so yummy. I wish they would bring then back!
I still fondly remember these, how mind-blowingly delicious they were.... Nobody else does though. I liked the one with beans--they were whole beans! And was it real cheese? Maybe they will bring them back if enough people ask.
I worked at Taco Bell, and I remember these!! I just wish I knew what kind of beans were used!! I would definetely make these at home!! I wish they would bring them back!!
I ate these almost every day when they were out. i would again today if they still had it. Best food ever. Now i cant even find a picture of it on the internet. So few people even remember it.
I worked there in the summer of 96. They used ranch style jalapeno beans. I still make them for the husband and kiddos but I use chili beans insted.
I may be late to this post but I finally decided to search for this burrito that I loved so much and never forgot from the 90's. The Three Cheese Melt Burrito was the best burrito Taco Bell ever made, period. I think it was the beans they put in it. Now theyve taken away the Frito Burrito since they no longer have the chili. I would eat there way more if they still had these. I can dream I suppose...
I ate so many of these - it was during my second year of college. I would order two every time and I think that was overdoing it but they were just SO good. I can almost taste it when I think about it. Ha!
I worked at a Home Depot in college pushing carts and loading cars. This thing got me thru an entire summer! I tell my friends about it to this day. Please Taco Bell bring this back, best thing you ever made!! #TacoBellMenu
Loved Taco Bell's Three-Cheese Melt, and always got 2 of them plus Quesadilla, Regular Nachos (extra cup of Nacho Cheese) and a large Mountain Dew every time I went to Taco Bell for takeout food back in the days it existed. Too bad it was short lived. Though being made with mostly cheese, the Beans, Mexican Rice, and their creamy Jalapeno Pepper sauce that were added provided a great balance of flavors. Every bite was just as good as the last. Would love to see Taco Bell bring it back to the menu, even if it's only as a seasonal promo item much like the Beefy Crunch and Cheesy Double Beef Burritos are today.
I love that other people remember these. Literally nobody I know remembers. They had another one out at the same time that had steak in it as well, but the bean one was better. Being one of only a handful of people who actually remember this makes me feel like a real dedicated fat ass. :D
There were no beans in the three cheese melt, just Rice.
I am so glad someone else remembers besides me!! I thought I was the only one that remembered! That was my favorite item from there!
I remember! I worked there. Wish they would bring them back!
3 Cheeez melt...oh how I miss thee. Just ate a Melted Three Cheese, hoping they finally brought it back. To my disappointment it wasn’t it. Sigh! Come on Taco Bell bring it back!!!!! Like every one on here none of my friends or family members remember it. 🤔
Me and my best buddy would run to Taco Bell late at night for the triple cheese melts. I used to get ten and freeze them. The were so good. One ti,e I even drove 6 miles in a blizzard to get them. Then one day I pulled up to order my favorite three cheese melt, and they told me the saddest news! Discontinued! What, everyone I knew loved them.
These were the best ever!!! I ate 2 of them *every* single day... If taco bell ever brought them back I prolly would eat them every single day again! Taco Bell....PLEASE Bring them back!

Yeah John I can guess what else you and your buddy used to do late at night
