Another weird, late 90s label fetish craze over clothes that were nothing special. At one time, Abercrombie and Fitch was a quality label of non-flashy, English country-style clothes, without the label splayed all over them. Then in the 90s, they started courting the shallow label-crazy market and went downhill in quality at the same time. But their name became synonymous with a certain kind of all-American white boy look; you'd hear people say, "Oh, he looks real Abercrombie and Fitch," just the same way they used to say "He looks real GQ" in the 80s.
