there are a kind that you tie which are called converse alstars. ther is also a slip on kind called vans. everyone wears both kind. they are really fashionsble. i even wore a pir of the vans. mine are black with hot pink flamingos. everyone who doesnt wear flipflops at my jr high wears one of the two
