Comments left:	The "Captain Planet" cartoon series was by Turner Entertainment, starting in 1990. The complete set of action figures and vehicles (by Tiger Toys) was 16. Some required batteries. Along with the four teens, whose powers, when combined, made the captain appear in this series dealing with environmental issues, there were several variant Captain Planet figures. The series went into syndication in 1992, just as the major TV networks began phasing out Saturday cartoons, replacing them with adult news-talk or educational programs. Only Fox and ABC continued showing cartoons. NBC had limited kid Saturday shows, like "Saved By the Bell" and "California Dreams."
