I remember my mom buying FOF around 1970ish. She always managed to get us to eat heatlthy stuff but after eating Life and Capn Crunch, I was highly suspicious of a cereal in an almost monochromatic package with some 1800s guy wielding a scythe. After her Uncle Sam cereal fiasco, we kids were skittish about any cereal that didn't have a cartoon character and some toy 'inside specially marked boxes'. BHT and/or BHA be damned, no more Uncle Sam cereal. Only North Korean military surplus cereal could be worse that that stuff. But FOF was a hit and as far as we kids were concerned, Capn Crunch could walk the plank. I definitely would buy FOF if I saw it on the shelf.
