about the description. no, it started in japan, where it is a lot more popular, the movies even come out in theaters. It was first an game, the the shows(12 sesons, currently on Cartoon Network), the the card game. they have many spin-offs: pinnball, rangers, mystery dungeon, and more. there have also been the GameCube's colleseum, and XD Gale of Drakness. for the Wii, there is battle revolution (a piece of crap and a total waste of mony) and My Pokemon Ranch, witch is ok.
