For about 2 years, these little bean bags shaped like animals were must have toys and were believed to be collectors items, especially the bears. But later it was found out that they were so mass-produced that they would probably never be valuable.

User Stories and Comments
The following are comments left about Beanie Babys from site visitors such as yourself. They are not spell checked or reviewed for accuracy. I had quite a few of these, but never tons unlike some friends, who had so many they must have had almost all the ones they made. They lost their appeal when people started charging ridiculous prices for the "rare" ones, when they weren't rare at all in any way shape or form
i was like 14 when i got one of these..it was the panther..i remember thinking, what the he-- am i going to do witht this?
I had some of these and I still do.
Started collecting 'em in third grade, and I still have them, all these years later. Go me ;D

OMG I LOVED BEANIE BABIES!
My god I have like 500 of them
actually have that many. I counted.
Like cloe, I have a jillion of these..........and even if they are worth tons of money, I could never depart with them ( except Twigs the Giraffe, I gave to my Catholic priest, because he likes giraffes ).
These are fun, and I still have mine. They aint never going nowhere - never. They are too cute :)
been collecting these for almost ten years now and the count is up to almost 2000 of all sizes and styles. shame the values have dropped as i have lost so much m,oney. not bothered though, they mean more to me than the money id get for them would.
I have some beanie babies. fro mthe 90's and they still make them.
I still have mine buried in my closet and on my window sill in my bedroom.
hi
I remembered getting them from McDonald's all the time but I could never buy the real ones .. they were always too expensive.
i love these toys
I have a parrot and a horsey
omg, i had alot of these. but my cousin had even more ! we use to collect the limited edition ones at rest stops :) aw.
They were pretty cheap. Cheap enough for a kid to get on allowance :)
I still have a ton of the dogs. I started collecting when I happened upon a booth at a collectibles show at the mall. I had heard of Beanies but wasn't all that interested until I saw all the dogs. I got hooked. I bought several and have been collecting ever since. My dog beanies are a sub collection of my larger dog collection.
I use to have over a hundred of these things. I kept a couple but donated the rest.
Grrrrrrrr I hate it when people say that Beanies suck. Just because they aren't worth alot doesn't mean they don't rule. I have a whole lot and love them to pieces, even if they aren't worth millions.....(Beanies collecters would probably die and come back to life, then die again if they saw first my beat up old Flip (My first stuffed animal, renamed BMC), then mt mint condition Flip with all the tags, bells, and whistles.)
i had one of the panda one;s that i liked and the birthday one;s that i still have in my toy chest
I still have beanie babiesl. I just have them I don't really collect them but the stationary store around the cornor has them . and my 5th grade had them
i love this toy, it rocks
My 5th grade had so many of theses scattered in the classroom OMG and i wanted them/ I earned sum.
I still have about 7 boxes of those lol. I used to collect them like mad. I had a really rare one, the lying down polar bear named Chili (I think that's his name?), but my mom made me give it away along with a lot of other ones. MAN I WAS SO MAD! But I still have most of mine, my mom didn't give them all away. My favorites of all time were the yellow and white cat named Nip and the pumpkin whose name I don't remember.
I only have two real ones and one McDOnald one. I wanted all the dog ones.
I remember having beanie baby fights with my brother and friends in my play room which I had, and it was so much fun. Yes, some people would get hurt, but it was worth it. I have about 50 beanie babies, that are all amazing.
i remember collecting all of them. when we were little my sisters and i would make parties for them and we even made the band the beach dogs. such good times. still have like 4 contianers full of beanie babies.
I mostly only have beanie babies from McDonalds but i still think they are awesome!
I remember that McDonalds was always busy with people buying Happy Meals just so they could get one of the Beanie Babies. The other Beanie Babies were mostly turned into collector's items but there are tons of these toys sitting at thrift stores nowadays.
My whole shelf use to be filled up with loads of these bad boys.... now there all locked up in storage containers in my closet! I miss the beanie baby craze!
I had a whole colelction of these. My 5th grade teacher kept getting new ones around the classroom.
Still very common in thrift stores even in 2013, and still made. I had a lot of these as a kid and now have just the more realistic of the two koalas, the German Shepherd, the Zodiac Beanies snake and a Ty Beanie Kid that looks like Chaka Khan.
I wanted thewse so badly. they use to sell them at the stationary store by my house. I kept asking my grandparents I wanted them when they walked up their and i walked with them just to buy a card. they never listened to to me., walking home with them.
I use to collect these I still have some floating around
I cvollected alot of these so did my 5th grade teacher,
My mom gave me a few of these now they have beanie boos
I had ton of these my 5th grade teacher used to collect these Steven that he even had some in the prize box for good behavior and I got a lot of these for my birthday stationary store around the corner from me sold a lot of these Nother beanie boos which are actually creepy
I used to have these and several others from different companies such as Disney and Warner Bros./Hanna-Barbera including Sebastian the Crab, Pinocchio, Goofy, Donald Duck, Abu (the Monkey), Scooby-Doo, Minnie Mouse and Pluto. Now they have Disney and Warner Bros./Hanna-Barbera licensed Beanie Babies (including the ones that are based on Ben 10 and other cartoons) and Ty Girlz.
I love this better. They were always sold out
I had so many of these. I remember one of my teachers in elementary school collected these as well and even brought them to school one day to show the class.
