A really cool 16-bit system. Had the kickass game Sonic the Hedgehog and Street Fighter 2. Games realeased on this system were normally for teenagers too, so lots of cuss words galore! I love that system. :)

As much as I love 360 and and ps3 and all that. Genesis was the best invention EVER!!
I had one and had tones of games for it. Then one day mom got rid of it and got me a ps2.... I would rather have the Sega Genesis...

This system, along with Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64, is in my top 3 game systems of all time. And I own 15!

My brothers and I used to play this all the time. I had a Barney game, Ronald McDonald game, pony game, Sonic, Streetfighters. Those were the good ole times. I still have the system and it works great.
Game Systemz are OWNAGE!!!!!!! And they came out with a ps3 And an Xbox-360!!!
I have one still, and I has sonic, sonic 2 sonic 3 sonic pinball, sonicsonicsonic to many sonic games! And MK1
I have two, one is broken but I don't care. I still have a few games. I loved the Lion King game and the Bubsy games, but I hated that Awesome Possum game.
sonic was like my childhood growing up being born in 1990. i would always play with my next door neighbors, and i remember my neighbor ashley who was about 3 1/2 years younger than me would want to play and i was so stubborn and i would give her the other controller and let her think she was playing even though i was sitting behind her actually playing. did anyone ever have the sega game with the paper boy on the bike and he would have to deliver newspapers to houses without getting attacked by cats or hit by cars?? and then if you make it, theres a huge stadium audience there applauding you? that one was great
SONICCCCCCC!!!!!!!!!! omgg i looooved my sega genesis!! I still have it ---it sorta works. The screen is sorta whacked out - I have to tilt it almost at a 90 degree angle to see anything (weird?) but I can still hear that sweet, sweet sonic music.
I loved playing Sonic, tho I could never beat the game I got to the end many times. I also had this one really cool game that you could paint and do cool things. I also had a Jungle Book game for it and monopoly and i think a lion king game. also had Ms Pac-Man and toy story.
I absolutely LOVED playing my Sega Genesis! I remember when a few of my friends and my girlfriend came over to my house almost every Saturday morning just to eat snacks, watch some tv, and play games like Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat. We had so much fun knocking each other out round after round. Man, if I could turn back time...
I owened the whole series
When released in 1989, Genesis sold for $190, with Altered Beast bundled in. Game packs were $60 (mostly). One of the better shoot 'em up games was Zero Tolerance by Accolade. You played one of five team members exploring fifty-plus areas, shooting mutants until you were killed or managed to secure each area. Game ended when your five-member crew got killed. Bought my first Genesis at Babbages in Mall of America, 1992. That was when the mall had Camp Snoopy and better stores and restaurants. They now lost Tony Roma's and Ruby Tuesday!
