    • 10. The Player
Robert Altman's halarious satire on hollywood. One of the great endings in film history.
    • 9. Bringing out the Dead
Underrated film by Scorsese. The best film about human suffering since Robert Bresson films. A truly reliious and honest movie.
    • 8. Crumb
      A Fascinating documentary. Very funny.
    • 7. JFK
A Great political film. Masterful direction and editing.
    • 6. For Ever Mozart
Jean-luc Godard's best film since Tout va Bien.
    • 5. Goodfellas
The most entertaining film of the 90's. Scorsese is a genius. A tour de force.
    • 4. Ed Wood
The best film about filmmaking since Fellini's 8 1/2
    • 3. The Thin Red Line
Terrence Malick's film is a visionary poem, while Speilburgs film was as manipulative as the John Wayne war films it pretends not to be.
    • 2. Fargo
The best human comedy of the decade.
    • 1. Eyes Wide Shut
      Kubricks haunting final masterpiece.
I also valued Paul Thomas Andersons films Boogie Nights and Magnolia.

    • 10. Waking Ned Devine
It's a shame really this film didn't do better than it did. I thought it was a clever fun movie. I don't usually tend to like movies of this sort, but this one definitely stuck with me.
    • 9. Shawshank Redemption
    • 8. Point of No Return
    • 7. Little Women
    • 6. Toy Story / Toy Story 2
    • 5. In the Name of the Father
GREAT, GREAT movie based on the true story of the Gilford Four. The acting by Daniel Day-Lewis, Pete Postlethwait, and the entire cast is outstanding. It's definitely a stressful film at parts but exceptionally well-done.
    • 4. Fifth Element
This made it into the "Worst Movies" list... I must say I would've agreed after the first time I saw it in the theatre. Somehow it grew on me and now it's become a fun type movie for me.
    • 3. Patriot Games
Strangely enough, this movie is calming to my senses. It tends to find its way to the VCR late at night before I head to bed.
    • 2. The Professional
Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, Natalie Portman. Excellent film, superb acting. "No women, no kids."
    • 1. Usual Suspects
Far and away my favorite movie of all-time. It's an incredibly intelligent, well-written, well-directed film. Every aspect amazes me more each time I see it! "Back when I was pickin beans in Guatemala..."
Well that's it.. the 10 movies I can't do without. If the list had been Top 11, then 12 Monkeys would fill the last position. I can't say enough about each of these, which is why I didn't even attempt to. :)
