    • 10. The Big Lebowski
One of the Funniest Movie of the 90's I love this movie. Not really because of the story, but more because of the charaters. Walter, Donny, Jesus, and the Dude. Some of the best characters that the Coen Brother's have ever created. This movie will make you laugh out loud more than once
    • 9. Fargo
An oustanding quirky thriller that is more like a black comedey, one of the best.
    • 8. Fight Club
While Brad Pitt is popular, Edward Norton is the real star of Fight Club.An outstanding cast and great direction by David Fincher makes this a must-see movie!
    • 7. The Matrix
The MAtrix is a must see..not for its acting but for the amzing special effects.
    • 6. Braveheart
This movie is THE Historical epic of its generation and has set the standard for historical epics today. A full-throated, red blooded battle epic.
    • 5. Saving Private Ryan
Delivers what a good war movie should: the perfect amount of drama, action, and heroism. A must-watch for all war movie enthusiasts. One of the classics.
    • 4. Schindler's List
A movie that will change your life.
    • 3. Reservoir Dogs
Quentin Tarantino's direction in this film is simply next to outrageously genius. His storytelling ability can keep your eyes crazy-glued to the televison screen the while 100 minutes. It is gore-show, but who cares? The acting is superb, the story is fantastic, the plot rocks, the soundtrack is rad. Just an all-round kick-ass movie.
    • 2. 2. Shawshank Redemption
Though this movie slows down in the middle the final redemption is on of the greatest plot twist in movie history... a truely uplifting and unforgettable movie.
    • 1. 1. Pulp Fiction
One of the Greatest Movies of all time... the most original situations and of course the unforgettable screenplay by Tarantino. Truely a Masterpiece
Honorable Mentions: American History X, LA Confidential and the Goodfellas Oscar Mishaps: 1994- Forrest Gump basically swept the awards when there was two films that are considerably better than it. Them being Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption. 1998- Saving Private Ryan should have won best picture and edward norton should have won best actor

    • 10. Austen Powers: International Man of Mystery
The 1st and 3rd of the Austen Powers trilogies are, truly, the funniest films I think I've ever seen. Very well done; ridiculious, thoughtless, for entertainement only.
    • 9. Oxygen
Little-known crime thriller of the 1990's starring Adrien Brody. Surprisingly intriguing; despite its lack-lustre marketing.
    • 8. Sense and Sensibility
Excellent Austen adaptation - I can't stand when they change the film too much; this one was incredibly well done.
    • 7. Cyrano DeBergerac (FRN)
The french film of the play by the same name. Appologize for atrocious spelling.
    • 6. Sunshine
Okay, so I have a bit of a bias for Ralph Fiennes movies. This one does drag a little, but it is poignant and remarkable for its use of characterization.
    • 5. The English Patient
Excellent performances from ALL leads. And Ralph Fiennes. Lots of Ralph Fiennes.
    • 4. Shall We Dance? (JPN)
The original Japanese version of this film is poignant, funny, and well made. Excellent!
    • 3. Schindler's List
Certainly an excellent movie; though its pseudo-Historically Accurate Hype is somewhat off-putting.
    • 2. Silence of the Lambs
Hannibal Lecter - enough said. "I'll have it with some fava beans and a nice Chianti."
    • 1. Strictly Ballroom
This is one of those movies that, while never being acknowledged internationally, is a true gem - comic, dramatic, and - of course - dramatic. For all of us Frans out there.

    • 10. Boogie Nights
It's amazing that Mark Walhberg once went by the name Marky Mark - he is a great up and coming actor. Movie is loosely based on John Holmes.
    • 9. The Shawshank Redemption
I once heard a couple complain that there was too much dialogue in this movie. HELLO! That IS why the movie was so great.
    • 8. The Silence of the Lambs
Very difficult to pull off, Silence is the scariest movie since Halloween.
    • 7. Titanic
Like most guys, I went in just to see the ship sink. However, the love story was even better.
    • 6. Braveheart
A great movie that could've been better if they left out the romance between Gibson and the French princess. I guess you gotta appeal to Mel's female fans.
    • 5. Malcolm X
Controversial when released, Spike Lee's best work since "Do the Right Thing".
    • 4. Hoop Dreams
Documentary about two high school basketball players from the projects dreaming of making it to the NBA.
    • 3. Contact
Very believable concept (except the end where she meets her father).
    • 2. Schindler's List
I lost it at the end when the real persons placed stones on Schindler's grave.
    • 1. GoodFellas
Right up there with "The Godfather" as the best mob movie of all-time. Amazing script.
So many great movies released in the 90's, this list could change each day.
