to be honest....i've left out loads of the best....problem is i can't remember them!! but there were a lot of songs...and they aren't really a top ten.....just ten that i remember! No Leaf Clover- Metallica, Smells Like Teen Spirit- Nirvana (never knew how to spell that....), Falling in Love With you- UB40, Breakfast @ Tiffany's- Deep Blue Something, Don't Leave Me Girl- Blackstreet (not too sure when it was released), I Believe I Can Fly- R. Kelly......i cud go on!!

  This is the ultimate head-banger piece. :nods: Yup, yup.. I also love "Somewhere", "Black Hole Sun", "Jesus Christ Pose", and "Burden in my Hand". Soundgarden is incredible.

  I love this song. Everything Radiohead says sounds so wise! I don't know how they do it.

  Great melody. Nice guitars. There is nothing quite like a big, roaring guitar.
• 7. November Rain by Guns N' Roses
  In principle, I'm supposed to dislike this band for their sexism, racism, and homophobia. Still, I can't help noticing like the rest of you that this song is a masterpiece. Guns N' Roses capture all that is good and bad about hard rock.
• 6. All I Know by The Screaming Trees
  Like the Throwing Muses, they never had the fame they deserved. This song is beautiful.
• 5. Machinehead by Bush
  It's just...good! It always has me tapping my feet, without fail.
• 4. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
  This is a classic. I'm also a huge Nirvana fan. I love almost everything they do.
• 3. Pearl Jam by Jeremy
  I'd list practically every Pearl Jam song here, but there isn't room, so I'm only putting one. Pearl Jam is my favorite band - no competition there. Their range is amazing. Who else could record the ironic "Do the Evolution", the stunning "Daughter", and the angst-ridden "Once"? "Jeremy" just happens to capture the band at their peak I think. Gorgeous melody, incredible vocals, and meaningful lyrics. All that makes Pearl Jam what it is. Take that, Creed!
• 2. The Smashing Pumpkins by 1979
  It's beautiful. I love this thing.
• 1. Ellen West by The Throwing Muses
  This band never quite got the attention it so richly deserved. The song has one great tune! It's always nice to see women singing in the male-dominated category of alternative rock.
