Started on the foundation of post-grunge and then went on to help rock find it's identity in the late nineties and on.
    • 9. Cherub Rock by Smashing Pumpkins
Great song by a solid band.
    • 8. Everything Zen by Bush
Nirvana wannabes, maybe. But they could sure rock out!

They weren't from Seattle, but they helped popularize the grunge/alternative rock movement.

Epitomized the catchy alternative pop/rock songs of the mid 90's
    • 5. Would by Alice in Chains
Man, they could rock hard.... Jerry Cantrell is a great guitarist!!

What other 80's metal band was able to make the transition to 90's alternative rock and be so successful at it?
    • 3. Evenflow by Pearl Jam
Is there a rock singer today who doesn't try to copy the full, rich sounds of Eddie Vedder's voice?

This song has sentimental value for me-I heard it for the first time during a trip to San Diego and it always makes me think of that trip. Plus it's catchy!
    • 9. No Son of Mine by Genesis
A great pop song by a band known for their art rock style. I prefer the art rock style myself but I won't knock a good pop song. This is one of the best.

I love everything by Tracy Chapman but this is the song I can relate to most.
    • 6. Restless One by Tall Stories
A very rare song off of a virtually unknown album...the best way to describe it is "The ballad above all ballads." Great song, great CD.
    • 5. Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band
Crash into me, yeah...And I come into you... AWESOME song!
    • 4. The Freshmen by Verve Pipe

    • 3. I Would Have Loved You Anyway by Trisha Yearwood
Reminds me of an old love...strange how life turns out sometimes...
    • 2. 3 Libras by A Perfect Circle
It's hard to find something bad to say about this song...a friend of mine committed sucide last year and had this song played at her funeral and it fit perfectly, unfortunately. The song is beautiful.
    • 1. When You Love a Woman by Journey
This was the top hit off of one of the biggest comback albums in the 90's...plus they're my all time favorite!

There are so many songs that should be up here but that's the way it works sometimes....
