      only because cake had to have a song on the top ten. quite possibley the most pimp song ever written.

      no one can listen to this song without totally flipping out
    • 8. One Headlight by Wallflowers
      way underrated only because he's the offspring of dylan. excellant band and song-writing
    • 7. Lightning Crashes by Live
      one of the only bands to ever get a standing ovation on SNL?? yet another song everyone knows the tune to.
    • 6. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
      another great band of the grunge era. extremely sad/scary song
    • 5. Impression That I Get by Mighty Mighty Bosstones
      brought back yet another wave of ska. only real ska band to actually have a hit in the 90's
    • 4. Everlong by Foo Fighters
      in my opinion this is the greatest song ever written and recorded. listen to it and try not get all emotional

    I wish we could divide this list between hip hop/r&b, and rock ......i dont think its fair to compare R.E.M. with house of pain....later guys

      This song controls you mind it is so powerful. Pink Floyd is likely the most talented group ever.

      Freddy Mercury is most likely the best rock signer ever. He had range like no other. This song shows that range.
    • 5. The Unforgiven by Metallica
      Tight group. They have the sound of a well oiled machine. This song is one of their best.
    • 4. Going to California by Led Zeppelin
      Most likely the best rock group ever. This song is a much better piece of music than everybodies favorite Stairway to Heaven

      Classic song by a timeless group that had many great works. This song is truely rock n roll.
    • 2. Night Prowler by AC/DC
      If you are making a personal CD or tape this should be the last song on it. Bon Scott was one of the best rock singers and this song is kick butt.
