10. Avenue by Paul van DykHow could I do a 90's comp without mentioning PvD? One of the most pivotal figures in current Trance music, and an amazing talent.
9. Groove Is In The Heart by Dee LiteGreat poppy dance music from the early 90's. One of the songs that really got me interested in dance music in the first place.
8. Connection by ElasticaOne of the great Alt-rock tunes of the decade, in my opinion. Once again proves that British musicians kick ass.
7. Popular by Nada SurfIf one song makes me remember my high school days, it's Nada Surf's 'Popular', all about high school relationships.
6. I'm Too Sexy by Right Said FredJust when we all thought that dance music was a dumb fad, Right Said Fred came along and reminded us all that it can be... fun!
5. March of the Pigs by Nine Inch NailsOnce again, although this song never reached the peak popularity of 'Closer', I feel it's a better song, one of the high points of NIN.
4. Sure Shot by Beastie BoysAlthough not quite as popular as some of their other singles in the 90's, I think this song more accurately represents their incredible talent.
3. November Rain by Guns & RosesWho can deny that this is the culmination of all things hair band/butt rock oriented? Awesome piece of music, this is.
2. When I Grow Up / Special by GarbageWith Garbage's 'Version 2.0' album, they seem to have successfully bridged the gap between pop, rock, and techno, and the band continues to develop.
1. Soma by Smashing PumpkinsExcellent, meaningful rock from the Chicago based band. A bit more obscure than some of their stuff, but better than most in my opinion.
Sickened by the shallow, mainstream songs that so many of you chose, I decided to choose some songs that were a little more off the wall. Hope you all can appreciate my selections! Mind you this is not a definitive list of all my favourites, nor are these in any particular order of favourites. Just a variety of some of the better songs from the 90's
