To tell you the truth...I hate this band...I am just amazed at the songwriting talent.

Hands down the greatest radio song of all time...surpassed stairway to heaven, and still going. The instant that giutar comes in in the beginning, all hell breaks loose. This song is a firestarter, it just plain kicks ass.

Easily one of the most well written, beautiful, and tear promoting songs of the generation.
You may notice the importance of rock on my list...it is only the truth...I could have named a million other songs...these were just the first that came to mind...onviously it is the impact that made me think of them first.

radiohead is probably the best band of the 90's in my opinion, but i couldn't choose a best song by them, there's far too many good ones. same with belle and sebastian, so i left those two bands out although they both belong somewhere on this list. other great 90's music i didn't get to include on the list...mogwai, pulp, suede, portishead, pj harvey, godspeed you black emperor!, cat power, muse, the bluetones, the verve, massive attack, the smashing pumpkins, i could go on and on but i'm rather tired. i just wanted to post a list of some REAL music that came out during this era 'cos most of the stuff that surfaced in the 90's was shite and most of the lists that have been posted seem like "worst of" lists. rather appalling considering how much good music there actually was. so there's my contribution, hope you enjoyed it.
