What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?
By: Manu
- 10. Ironic by Alanis Morissette
The best song from an impressive begginer album
- 9. Beautiful Day by U2
They are not going to get the impressive lyrics and music that in the 80s and earlier 90s did, but All that you cant leave behind is well enough to do it.
- 8. Smooth by Santana Feat. Rob Thomas
The strenght of this song is enough to raise a dead form his thumb.
- 7. Losing My Religion by Rem
The Athens, Ga. band compossed the hit of the new age rock
- 6. Wonderwall by Oasis
Rock And Roll got alive thanks to this song, it was death in the 90s but they did it, thanks Oasis but only for this song.
- 5. Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Their latest jobs are not bad but this song its for me as good as being walking through L.A. but neve being in that city.
- 4. Smell Like A Teen Spirit by Nirvana
Really the song that made them get biggest
- 3. 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins
Really a different rock concept that made my mand go slightly mad
- 2. The Fly by U2
The second fav song from my first album
- 1. One by U2
The biggest song of my fav album of the 90
By: Katie
- 10. California Love by Tupac
I'm slightly bent to alternative and rock, but the 90s thrived on some ingenius rap as well. California Love was just perfection.
- 9. The Freshman by The Verve Pipe
This is another song often overlooked, but well deserving of 90s fame. No matter how many times I listen to it, it never gets old.
- 8. No Rain by Blind Melon
I'm not sure why this song is so great, but who doesn't love it? Blind Melon had so much potential and their video for this song was awesome.
- 7. Black by Pearl Jam
Black is perhaps the best studio recording of all time. The song is so real. This song is Pearl Jam.
- 6. Colorblind by Counting Crows
The Counting Crows was another band where picking just one song to represent them was a challenge. I settled for Colorblind because it's so unique and moving, but often overlooked.
- 5. Time of Your Life by Green Day
Who does not know and love this song. It's associated with change and memory. With the huge influence Green Day has had on 90s music, it seemed like a sin not to include them.
- 4. Come As You Are by Nirvana
Come As You Are was one of Nirvana's most ingenius songs. Smells Like Teen Spirit was perhaps their most influential song, but Come As You Are can be appreciated as well.
- 3. Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
Metallica is a great band and this song is universally loved. It's a reminder of why Metallica is so loved.
- 2. Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chilli Peppers
A best of the 90s list cannot be complete without a Red Hot Chilli Peppers song. Under the Bridge is classic song that I've yet to hear anyone say they dislike.
- 1. November Rain by Guns 'N Roses
November Rain was GNR at their best. The song is so filled with emotion and musical genius. This song will not be forgotten.
Narrowing this list down to just 10 songs posed quite a challenge. Despite all the bull sh*t that has come out of the 90s, there have been some great successes. (Bands not mentioned but great impact: Gin Blossoms, Presidents of the United States of America, Blink 182, Beck, Live)

A great remake of the song, and Lauryn Hill has a perfect, melodic voice for the song.

What can i say? Kurt Cobain was brilliant, the band was brilliant, and he understood teen boredom.
- 1. Good Riddance (time of your life) by Green Day
What can i say? Almost anyone who lived through the 90's can quote this song word for word. The band didn't mean for it to be an anthem to graduations, relationships, etc....but it ended up being that way. GO GREEN DAY!
I missed a LOT of great songs, i know there are many many great songs out there from the 90's, and great bands like 'Ace of Base' then there was Meredith Brooks and a lot of others. But these were songs in the 90's that everyone i know knew them, even if some weren't as popular as others.
