    • 1. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
This band started the 90's alternative rock derived from punk and jimmy hendrix revolution taking the best out of both worlds. i'm speechless..

Brian monaco's list is one of the best top ten of the 90's i have seen. I don't mean to mention the same songs. This is mainly a list of the early 90's songs.

    • 10. Flat Beat by Mr. Oizo
Heh! Love this song, and the video rules too!
    • 9. With or Without You by U2

    • 8. Hello Time Bomb by Matthew Good Band
3rd MGB song on my list, it doesn't need explanations! :P
    • 7. You Outta Know by Alanis Morisette
She's got great talent, and had a HUGE breakthrough in the 90s. Love this song.
    • 6. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
A great band that came to a tragic end. SO many great songs they have. Haven't met anyone that hasn't liked this song, either.
    • 5. Ex-Girlfriend by No Doubt
They have so many great songs, and are underrated as a "pop" group. This is just one of them.

Another of my favourite MGB songs. It just rules, period.

    • 10. Celebrity Skin by Hole
I'm not sure why I put this here instead of the other 9 million songs that deserve it more, and I'm not certain it was released in the 90's, but this has to be THE catchiest damn song I've ever heard in my life. I could listen to the first ten seconds of the song over and over for the rest of my life and not get tired of it. I think they deserve credit for that.
    • 9. Selling The Drama by Live
Now that I have the major bands out of the way, time for some of my favorites. I love this song, along with lightning crashes. If the rest of their songs are like those two, Nirvana has some competition for my favorite band.
    • 8. Bullet With Butterfly Wings by Smashing Pumpkins
    • 7. Losing My Religion by R.e.m.
    • 6. Glycerine by Bush
    • 5. Come Out And Play by The Offspring
Another one of my favorites back then...I can remember always singing along to "gotta keep 'em seperated"...good times
    • 4. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
Really popular...good song...freaky video... and so on.
    • 3. Enter Sandman by Metallica
Heh, this was my favorite song when I was, like, 3. Doesn't make much sense that a little girl would like a song like Enter Sandman, but what can I say, I'm odd. Anyway, very popular back then...and so forth.
    • 2. Better Man by Pearl Jam
Tough desicion, I remember so many of Pearl Jam's songs. Not to mention they're all very brilliant. It's either this or Jeremy, or daughter, or evenflow...
    • 1. Lithium by Nirvana
Excellent song, lyrically and musically. I seem to remember this one a lot more than I do Smells like teen spirit, I can't figure out why.

Note: I was born in 88 so I was pretty young in the 90's, but my parents loved rock and the radio was on ALL THE TIME... so I figured, if I remembered them that well they were probably pretty darn popular. I'm not only putting these songs because I remember them though, the early 90's produced most of my favorite bands, 1-9 are definately on my favorites list, not particularly in that order though. Other bands that should've been there... alice in chains, candlebox, collective soul, everclear, ratm, STP, beck, temple of the dog, and weezer..in no particular order really.
