What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?

    By: Jeroen Meuleman
    • 10. Luv U Still by Praga Khan
Had a massive influence on the development of bands such as The Prodigy. The melody line of this track still tears open your skin and is a real rage-feeder. Adrenaline risk!
    • 9. Rhythm Is A Dancer by Snap
Still an evergreen at parties. Marked the beginnings of eurodance.
    • 8. Eins Zwei Polizei by Mo-do
This song is still hilarious because back in the nineties everyone thought it was kind of cool but actually it's really daft. Entertaining value guaranteed!
    • 7. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
Of course "Come as you are" is better but as I indicate further down the list, I select the most known and most symbolical tracks.
    • 6. Age Of Love by Age Of Love
One of the first real trance classics. Shows some influences from the Art of Noise. Woohoo. From the days before trance was hypercommercialised and eurodance became eurotrash.
    • 5. Wonderwall by Oasis
I hate Oasis and their attitude but this song is great. There's no point denying it ;).
    • 4. Self Esteem by The Offspring
Keeps being a great hit at parties despite it being almost ten years old now. Of course, there are better songs than this one but "Self Esteem" is also a definite nineties classic. Undeniable.
    • 3. No Good (start The Dance) by The Prodigy
As you might have guessed, I'm heavily into electronics so this list will be a little biased. However, no one can deny that the nineties were the decade in which the electronics scene matured and became really important.
    • 2. The Twilight Zone by 2 Unlimited
I can't tell how many times this raving melody line has been plagiarised by other bands. But this is the real stuff! Check it out for the daft raps and the absolutely powerful melody.
    • 1. Insomnia by Faithless
Probably one of the greatest fusion bands in the nineties with a musical repertoire far greater than smashing dance hits alone. There are better songs that Insomnia but this is the most known and the most 90's-esque one.

    I'm mainly into electronics :D.

they are still my fav band. I've seen them twice in concert-in Alaska and Arizona.
    • 1. Live Forever by Oasis
Brings back memories of jr high

i feel that theres alot of other bands besides these ones i loved in the 90s and they will always be my favorite decade in music. some including TLC, No Doubt, The Smashing Pumpkins, Fiona Apple, Blur, Bush, Radiohead, Belly, Collective Soul, Oasis, Counting Crows, The Cranberries, Hole, Ben Folds Five, Poe, Everclear, Fountains of Wayne, Nada Surf, Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Third Eye Blind, New Radicals, Beck, Aerosmith, Natalie Imbruglia, Jewel, man there are so many others. it's sad that music these days will never be the same and that bands that we grew up with in the 90s are breaking up because of all these teenybopping lovin avril fans and trl takin over the scene. this decade sucks, and not only with music.

    • 1. Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana
One of the bands greatest songs. I want to eat your cancer when you turn black. Hey, wait, I got a new complaint!

The greatest band METALLICA, I love every song on every CD. I couldn't see putting Metallica on every number! I love you guys! Everybodys musical tastes are different, there was alot of great music in the 90's. I think that was the best 10 years in music. There will never be another 10 years so full of great, inspiritational, and from-the-soul music again like that. Now we are being held down and candy-coated soda pop, bubblegum, repeat this song 8 times every hour on the radio crappy music is being shoved down our throat. Grunge is gone, welcome all skaters. I will miss the Pearl Jam,Nirvana, and Stone Temple Pilots era. It makes me sad.
