Though originally a song by the Velvet Underground, Chan Marshall and her band Cat Power do a cover that melts me. It's a song I have to stop everything to listen to

Not one genre of music totally dominated but when you look back, hip hop was the most contriversial. I wasn't able to fit it in but He Got Game by Public Enemy would be #11 and Notorious Thugs by Notorious B.I.G. and Bone Thugs would be up there as well.
