      Though originally a song by the Velvet Underground, Chan Marshall and her band Cat Power do a cover that melts me. It's a song I have to stop everything to listen to

    • 9. Juicy by Notorious B.I.G.
      Copied the beat from Juicy Fruit but him and Tupac would have the biggest lyrical battles of the 90's, from 'Hail Mary' to 'Who Shot Ya'.
    • 8. f**k The Police by NWA
      Sent a message to what was happening in the Ghetto's of LA and Compton. The States went crazy when this song hit airwaves.
    • 7. Still Dre by Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg
      This song was heard on the system of every lowrider for years, and for years to come.
    • 6. Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith
      This song was for everyone.
    • 5. The Sign by Ace of Base
      Another girl group that made it big with this song.
    • 4. Crossroads by Bone Thugs & Harmony
      Simply a great song.

      The first but most important of many loser anthems.
    • 2. Changes by Tupac
      Finally someone sent a message to the world about racism and what we need to change, the vibe to this song could provide peace of mind.
    • 1. I'll Be Missing You by Puff Daddy
      If you remember the feeling when this song came out, then you'll know why it's #1

    Not one genre of music totally dominated but when you look back, hip hop was the most contriversial. I wasn't able to fit it in but He Got Game by Public Enemy would be #11 and Notorious Thugs by Notorious B.I.G. and Bone Thugs would be up there as well.

      It's not too hard, not too mellow...perfect

      I know people are whining about this, but these guys started something when all we had was grunge. They made a lot of kids happy (not to mention the adults who wont admit to smiling when they heard this tune) So Mmmbop is my top pick for the 90's, give the kids some credit

      The greatest hard rock ballad ever. Slash and Axl at their peak.
    • 1. Josephine by Wallflowers
      My favorite band. I could easily substitute "Closer to You" , "I Wish I felt Nothing", "One Headlight", "Three Marlenas", "If You Never got Sick", "I Started a Joke", or virtually any of their songs.
