What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?

    By: The Broken Rattle
    • 10. Milliennium by Robbie Williams
The Brit-Pop boy shows us that strings and fresh lyrics can make for great listening.
    • 9. Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65
Just a trippy song with a wonderful piano riff that even my mum likes.
    • 8. I Wish by Skee-Lo
The music is so hooky that I won't stop listening (if I could find it)
    • 7. The Freshmen by The Verve Pipe
The build-up and breakdown of the feeling is great. Somewhat Stairwayesque in this manner.
    • 6. Walking on the Sun by Smash Mouth
Smash Mouth revived the old organ playing of the 60's with this gem.
    • 5. Jump Around by House of Pain
Just to stay on your feet when this bouncy flow of music hits.
    • 4. All I Wanna Do by Sheryl Crow
Blue notes (bent notes) are abound in this bluesy song before Sheryl joined Lilith Fair
    • 3. All Star by Smash Mouth
I used to hate this song until I could listen closely. After hear the guitars on the courus, I was hooked.
    • 2. Closing Time by Semisonic
Power chords and a beautiful middle section with the piano makes it an instant classic.
    • 1. Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve
Nothing in the 90's touches the Verve's dive into utter passion and beauty in music. Those strings are hauntingly gorgeous.

Baby Got Back- Sir Mix-A-Lot's hilarious and sassy ode to big butts Albuquerque- Weird Al's 11:23 song on Running with Scissors is the funniest song ever. It hurt to laugh because I was doing it for so long.

Duran returned to the top 10 one last time in the 90's with this great song.

Duran Duran's 90's comeback. This song is a masterpiece.
    • 2. The Show Must Go On by Queen
Queen at their best. Sadly, this would turn out to be Queen's last release before Freddie Mercury's death a few weeks later.

The greatest love song ever written. This man is a genius.

Love acoustic Guitar and they use it well here, pity they didn't last long.

Though I love also 'Beautiful in My Eyes' this is another great story and especially as they don't forget the cat Moses, when they go escaping.
    • 3. Fields of Gold by Sting
Love Songs with Stories and this one is my personal favourite from Sting.
    • 2. Mountain by Chocolate Starfish
Usually Grundge (Which I don't like) but I like this I like heaps, it's a good pickup for work in the morning.
    • 1. At the Beginning by Donna Lewis & Richard Marx
Ooh this was real hard, there worthy contenders here depending on my mood swing, Crash Test Dummies 'hmmmmm', Little Mermaids 'kiss the Girl' , Sparrows Eye from Lauren Hill (Sister Act II) The Corrs etc.. But this theme song from Anastasia keeps inspiring me.

Now this ain't a list you see everyday, I would have put some musical songs, but I thought hey, the crowd that read this should at least think I've got some taste :) I went through all the list here and geez they were all 'common!' :) hope you enjoy some diversity.
