All of my songs have already been mentioned in other lists, but that just makes them even greater! I left out a lot of songs and bands, but they still have a place in my own personal top 20 list! The 90s rocked! I already miss them, this played out 21st century music will never match these.

This is a great song. Kim is an amazing singer and it makes me sad that whenever I talk to people about them they never know who they are.

I used to watch this video when I was 4 it was the only rock song I would admit to liking because I thought rock music was just for boys.

    • 3. Violet by Hole
I love Hole despite the negative things a lot of people say about them. If you listen to the words she says: the sky was made of amethyst and all the stars look just like little fish. Kurt was born in February and his birthstone is amethyst and his sign was pisces which is a fish.

    • 5. Soma by Smashing Pumpkins

The most majestic, life-affirming song on the greatest lost album of the 90s, Adam & Eve.
    • 3. Drain You by Nirvana
Teen Spirit was bigger, but this was Kurt's melodic peak.
    • 2. Lover, You Should've Come Over by Jeff Buckley
Without this man, there is no post-Pablo Radiohead, no Travis, no Coldplay.
    • 1. Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead
So delicate, yet powerful at the same time. As if it would break if you listen too hard.

There are many, many, many songs that deserve inclusion in this list. It's difficult to encapsulate 10 years of devotion to the sounds and words I never thought to say into ten selections. I only hope I die before I start to forget these songs and how they defined my existence for those all-too-brief years.

As you can see, I am a HUGE Nirvana fan. I honestly can hardly pick between any of their songs, so I just typed the songs as they came off the top of my head. Any and all Nirvana songs are good. Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl are 3 of the best rock performers that ever lived.
