By: Frangos
- 10. The Sweetest Thing by U2
Brilliant song by a brilliant band. Written in 1988 and released in 1998 and yet was still a great love song.
- 9. Come As You Are by Nirvana
Just a great song. One of Nirvana's best.
- 8. Enter Sandman by Metallica
This is one of those songs that makes you remember where you were when you first heard it.
- 7. Got The Life by Korn
Great guitar riffs and just a combination of vocals and drums makes the song brilliant.
- 6. Song 2 by Blur
Woohoo. Can't forget that ever. hahah although short is a great song.
- 5. Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chilli Peppers
You could argue that nearly every person has heard of this song and when the Peppers were really starting to climb the ladder to success.
- 4. I dont wanna miss a thing by Aerosmith
When this song came out I automatically thought it was the best song I had ever heard and after five or so years it's definitely in the top ten.
- 3. My Name Is by Eminem
Although not my favourite genre this song has a great beat throughout and is one song I was impressed by from hip hop.
- 2. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
What makes this song so great is the although easy guitar structure it is a brilliant combination and very original and with Kurt Cobain screaming out what can seem quite extroadinary lyrics makes a great song that will last.
- 1. One by U2
First listening to this song I thought it was quite ordinary but after a few times listening to it, the name is exactly that. Easy guitar but magnificent tune with a great melody by Bono.

- 10. Simple Creed by Live
Tons of great music from these fellas. This one kinda slipped through the cracks. This excellent rendition of the bands progression from college band to mainstream rockers.
- 9. Jane Says by Janes Addiction
I have 1 thing to say... STEEL DRUM VERSION-LIVE... If you've heard it then you know what i'm talking about. If you haven't, what the hell are you waiting for? Join the party.
- 8. Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve
This song caught everybody off guard when it hit. There was nothing else quite like it out there... and does anyone remember that heroine chick lead singer plowing into people time and time again in the video? ... that's what it's all about!
- 7. Aphrodesiac Jacket by Cult
Absolutely phenomenal group with so much amazing music. This is a little known track that captures everything they were trying to do.... kick some a$$!
- 6. Closing Time by Semisonic
"I know who i want to take me home!" Hopefully she's a double- jointed super model that owns her own brewery and has unlimited access to concert tickets and prescription drugs!!!!!
- 5. Simple by Collective Soul
I still cannot believe this song was left off their greatest hits?!
- 4. Zero by Smashing Pumpkins
Again... Tonight, 1979, etc... keep them. Stick to the basics. Zero is a song that proves you can still rule after you've made it big. You don't have to sell out (metallica, soundgarden, and so on).
- 3. Supersonic by Oasis
Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, etc... you can keep them. This is the tune that put them on the map and showed everyone they could hang!
- 2. Wax Extatic by Sponge
What happened to these guys? This was a killer tune!
- 1. Starseed by Our Lady Peace
The first taste of success from a band with many hits. This is still their best song to date.
These are in no particular order. Hope i was helpful. In case you were wondering... i don't feel the least bit guilty omitting Nirvana from this list. They were a good band but if Kurt didn't end it the way he did... the band would be in the same classification as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, etc... instead of The Beatles, Zepplin, Stones, and so on. Wake up everybody!

Generally I liked this group for their '80s and '90s music. This isn't my favorite song on the CD though, I like the Useless song even more.
- 5. Take a Picture by Filter
Love this song although when I heard it back in '99 and '00, I misunderstood what the song was about. Doesn't matter; I created my own idea of what the song was about.
- 4. Stand Inside Your Love by Smashing Pumpkins
Nobody plays this song anymore and nobody talks about it but this is my favorite Pumpkins song. I liked just about all of their hit songs.
- 3. Don't Go Away by Oasis
Not a song that was real popular but it's a favorite song of mine. I also like Wonderwall a lot and Oasis in general.
- 2. Shimmer by Fuel
Like how the song builds. Song is very short though. Also liked Bittersweet and many of their post-90's songs like Innocent.
- 1. Everlong by Foo Fighters
Great car-drive song through long, straight, tree-lined stretches of roadway.
There's hardly any separation between my #9 and #10 and a few other favorites that go outside my top 10 like "Black Balloon/Iris" by Goo Goo Dolls, "Adam's Song" by Blink 182 (if that was late '90's and not 2000, can't remember), "You Wanted More" by Tonic, "All I Want" by Toad the Wet Sprocket, "The Great Beyond" by REM, "She's so High" by Tal Bachman, "Abuse Me" by Silverchair.
