What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?
By: Aslan
- 10. One More Time by Britney Spears
OK. Let's give her a chance.
- 9. Frozen by Madonna
Not-truly-a-ballad released at the end of the 90's, in the middle of happy pop songs.
- 8. Barbie Girl by Aqua
The major Bubble-Gum band.
- 7. No Limits by 2unlimited
2Unlimited ...pioneers! Guess they were the first who dare to made this kind of music! Could we say that techno is rooted on 2Unlimited?
- 6. Beautiful Life by Ace Of Base
Excellent up-tempo song! Once more, Ace of Base set the beat. After this song was released, many songs of the kind popped up...timidly the Britney Spears movement began to take shape...
- 5. All I Wanna Do by Sheryl Crow
Happy song. Good beat. Original lyrics. Beautiful singer. Nice voice.
- 4. Foolish Games by Jewel
I reckon this song must be the saddest song sung by a female artist during the 90's... or is it Nothing Compares 2U???
- 3. Don't Speak by No Doubt
Undoubtedly, this IS the 90's ballad.
- 2. Mallorca by Loft
Eurodance fans consider this song one of the best of the style. So do I.
- 1. All That She Wants by Ace Of Base
Unique. The beat of this song (as well as The Sign's) set the difference from the 80's pop songs!

Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell coming together and belting out this amazing song (and one of the top 10 songs to get stuck in your head) what more could you ask for? "I'm going hunnnnngrrryyyyyy!!!"
- 9. Porcelain by Moby
This song is sooooo beautiful....awwww....what more can I say?
- 8. Losing My Religion by REM
This song has never gotten on my nerves no matter how much it has been played, it is truly one of the greatest songs of the 90's.
- 7. Tonight, Tonight by Smashing Pumpkins
One of the best songs ever made by Smashing Pumpkins, and that is saying a lot! All of their songs are incredible, but I chose this one simply because I love the music and how it all comes together with Billy Corgan's beautiful voice.
- 6. Lady Picture Show and Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots
"Lady Picture Show" is my favorite song from the Stone Temple Pilots guys so it has to be on here. "Interstate Love Song"...very catchy, pretty short, but who cares? AWESOMENESS!
- 5. High and Dry by Radiohead
Although "Creep" may be their most mainstream song, "High and Dry" is the best song from Radiohead that should make this list. Absolutely beautiful in all respects and a great song to stare at the sky when you are in a car, as long as you are not driving.
- 4. Closer by Nine Inch Nails
Dirty...Dirty...Dirty! I LOVE IT!
- 3. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
Should be on everyone's list, because I dont care if you are the hugest Backstreet Boys fan (shudder) but you know this f*%$in song and you attempt to headbang everytime you hear it.
- 2. Alive and Jeremy by Pearl Jam
OUCH...I was so torn between the two so here is a tie! My favorite song from Pearl Jam is "Elderly Woman Standing Behind the Counter in a Small Town," but these two are the songs that launched PJ and continue to rock the radio everytime they are on. "Alive" is an awesome rock anthem that I just love to belt out when I am driving, or any other time for that matter. "Jeremy" is a beautiful and extremely sad song. Very easy to relate too and the video is outstanding! Eddie Vedder is THE MAN!
- 1. Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band
Although not my favorite DMB song, this one has to be the number 1 of the 90's. It is soooo erotic in a very classy and beautiful way. It really took off for DMB and I absolutely LOVE it!
Honorable Mentions: "At the Stars"-Better Than Ezra, "Blackhole Sun"-Soundgarden, "Don't Drink the Water"-Dave Matthews Band, "Would"-Alice in Chains, "Sunflower"-Chris Cornell, "Possession"-Sarah McLachlan, "Zombie"-Cranberries, "If You Could Only See"-Tonic, and "Wonderwall"-Oasis
