  .."My name is Prince, and i am funky...." yeah so cool. He's expressing who he is and what he stands for and that he can rock like crazy and is a damn good singer.

  Loved that song..I remember when i was in da 4th grade and i did a group dance for that song for a talent show...we won, and sexy song. Its a kinda slow, r&b/hip-hoppish song-with Missy Elliot .

  I like that song.TLC was great and the beat makes u wanna dance and sing along 2 it..its about her creepin' on her boyfriend/some dude ("cheating")Ha! tight song!
• 2. Get Off by Prince
  this song rocks, it's so funky and provocative. Prince was cool with his sexy voice and hip-hop beats..yeah.."Get Off..23 positions in a 1 night stand"...........so cool
• 1. Rhythum Is A Dancer by Snap
  this song is so cool and upbeat and funky. I like the hype rhythum and its makes ya wanna dance!

I like that Prince, he's pretty Funky, Salt n' Pepa, TlC,Snap-cool and funky 90s artists-the best!!!

  TLC was and will always be the shiznik, fo real. Creep was my favorite song off their albulm Crazy Sexy Cool. "so i creep, ya ya, just keep it on the down low, and no one is suppose to know.
• 5. Hypnotize by Notorious B.I.G.
  Biggy words hypnotized everyone to get it on and poppin.

  One of the best R&B groups of the 90s
• 3. Crossroads by BoneThugs N Harmony
  Bone Thugs from my state ohio did tight song with thier harmonic voices blending well with each other.
• 2. Keep Ya Head Up by Tupac Shakur
  Tupac made great songs from california love to I get around to changes. Keep ya Head Up was inspriation to me and still is.
• 1. Aaliyah by One In A Million
  The one the only Aaliyah. My inspriation, my idol, my heart. This came out in 96 or 1997

  Just a great song.
• 9. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me by U2
  A great song, lyrically awesome as well. The best song on the Batman Forever soundtrack (along with the Seal song).
• 8. Time by Hootie and Blowfish
  I'm not Hootie's biggest fan, but they're a good band and it's no wonder why the album is one of the best-selling of all time. Time is one of many great tracks on the album, Cracked Rear View.
• 7. All Apologies by Nirvana
  Nirvana is generally a bit too hard for me, but Cobain was both musically talented and lyrically gifted, and this song is pretty well near perfect.
• 6. Losing My Religion by REM
  Great song. Great band. The acoustic versions are even better.
• 5. Sonnet by The Verve
  Pretty well anything by The Verve could've found it's way onto this list (Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky Man, etc.,) but this song is incredible and resonates with the simplicity and lyrical beauty that made The Verve one of the great bands of the 90s and music history, despite their brief band life.
• 4. Possession by Sarah McLachlan
  An absolutely beautiful song, even better in it's acoustic (piano/vocal only) form.
• 3. Stay (Far Away, So Close!) by U2
  I am not afraid to admit that I am moved to tears at hearing it.
• 2. Voices by Dario G f. Vanessa Quinoness
  Not only is the song spellbindingly beautiful, but it reminds me of the beach from The Beach (Phuket), perhaps the most beautiful place on earth. Pulsates with a rhythm and energy that is uplifting and is aesthetically magnificient.
• 1. One by U2
  The song that saved U2 (history's greatest band). The song that continues to be a beacon of hope and a message of peace. One love. One blood. One life. We get to carry each other.

I was compelled to include some non-U2 on this list, but if I could've been completely and utterly biased the list would have U2 from 1-10, and beyond. In addition to a lot more U2, I also considered for this list the following: Smashing Pumpkins, Disarm and 1979; the Verve Pipe, The Freshman; Third Eye Blind, I Want You; U2, virtually every song from Achtung Baby to Zooropa to POP; the Tragically Hip, Courage; Seal, Kiss From a Rose; the Cardigans, Erase-Rewind; Sarah McLachlan, dozens of songs; Red Hot Chili Peppers, Otherside and Californication and Around the World; Radiohead, Creep (a little too obvious though, since Radiohead's other work has been equally brilliant); Oasis, Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger; Moist, Underground and Breathe; Matthew Good Band, Apparitions; Aimee Mann, too many to name; Live, Lightning Crashes; Green Day, Time of Your Life; and much, much more.

It is really hard to choose just 10 songs... the 90's produced some of the best music ever... :) like others I restricted myself to only one song per artist.
