  Historical marker for music obviously. Bravo on timing because their earlier good stuff was in the late 80s. =0

  Not my personal favorite band of the ones on this list, but you can't deny that they have probably been the most constantly successful band of the last 15 years. This song is easily their best in my opinion.
• 9. Plush by Stone Temple Pilots
  Somehow this band is still underrated for what they accomplished.
• 8. Mouth Full of Cavities by Blind Melon
  Okay, maybe I'm a little biased.:)
• 7. Change by Blind Melon
  It's sad that there are people that really haven't heard of Blind Melon that are old enough that they should've. Blind Melon were lyrical geniuses.
• 6. Down in a Hole by Alice in Chains
  Sorry to all of you Nirvana fanatics, me included, but Alice in Chains deserve all of the credit that Nirvana got for starting the grunge/alternative rock scene.
• 5. Black Balloon by Goo Goo Dolls
  I'm not a huge fan of the band, but this song is great.
• 4. Come As You Are by Nirvana
  I love Nirvana, but in my opinion Smells Like Teen Spirit is one of their worst songs that people have actually heard of. This, in my opinion is the best.
• 3. Wonderwall by Oasis
  An amazing song from an amazing band.
• 2. Lateralus by Tool
  I can't believe there hasn't been more Tool mentions in everybody's list. They are brilliant.
• 1. No Rain by Blind Melon
  Easily the best band on this list, and would still be going strong today if not for Shannon Hoon's death.

  just a fantastic song but have kind of been overplayed so its just like smells like teens spirit fading away..

  One of the best bands from the 90,s.There song warheads is great.It sets the tone for the cd;but Nuno Bettencourt's guiatar and background vocals are unmatched

  Her musical talent is vast and has a heavenly voice.
• 5. Damn It by Blink 182
  This was the first time I heard of the pop punk band.
• 4. How Can We Be Lovers If We Cant Be Friends by Micheal Bolton
  Ok Its the only micheal bBolton song i can stand.
• 3. Runaway Train by Soul Asylum
  Great alternative song by another poster band of the 90s.IEverytime I saw the video I felt like I was reading a milk carton.

  Its a remake of an oldie but again its a good song

  Needed to have a Pearl Jam song simply b/w of their constant stream of great albums. Out of all their songs this is the one i relate to most... and i'm not elderely or a woman, or even behind a counter for that matter!

  First real punk song i loved! And yes, it is another Aussie band- get into Oz music, you'll love it!

  Awesome! Simply unique.... apologies must go to karma police, no surprises, the tourist, you and whose army etc etc!
• 5. Laughing Boy by Big Heavy Stuff
  Another Australian band, this song is awesome, just as i can relate to it i guess, but they are an awesome band! Probably the most underrated band in Australia i think
• 4. Live Forever by Oasis
  Need to have an Oasis song in there, and really, this is right up there with the best of them. Apologies to Wonderwall, Slide Away, Some Might Say and Don't Look Back in Anger
• 3. Angeles by Elliott Smith
  I'm sure no-one looking at this list will know much of Elliott's music, who tragically killed himself last year, but this is simply an almost perfect song. Do yourself a favour and get into his music!
• 2. High And Dry by Radiohead
  What can i say? The first radiohead song i heard, and i instantly fell in love with the band
• 1. Charlie #3 by The Whitlams
  An Australian band, this song is about a troubled band member who threw himself off the highest waterfall in NSW. There are three "Charlie's", get into it!
