What are your top ten favorite movies from the 90s?

    By: Candace Cooper
    • 10. Clueless
The movie that started all the Tennie Bopper movies! I hate to say it but this movie was enough!!!!
    • 9. Great Balls of Fire
Ok i loved it! Dennis Quaid is Jerry Lee in this movie!
    • 8. The Prince of Tides
      The book was better though.
    • 7. The Sixth Sense
    • 6. Girl Interrupted
    • 5. Silence of the Lambs
    • 4. Seven
    • 3. Forrest Gump
    • 2. American Beauty
    • 1. The Cider House Rules
Ok there's a lot i didn't mention. There were some great ones.

    • 10. The Sixth Sense
Not one single person on this earth does not know about this movie. THe movie will scare the hell out of you. You'll also cry, laugh, and tell yourself at the end of the movie "Omigod! I'm so stupid!" Need I say more?
    • 9. Schindler's List
Great acting. Heart-breaking. Triumphant. A movie that truly shows a depiction of a man who defines the meaning of human kindness and loyalty. THe movie is AMAZING.
    • 8. Lock, stock and two smoking barrels
Guy Richie, Madonna's husband directed this one about a group of young men who find themselves in a heap of trouble when a gambling bet goes awry. The direction of the camera is really cool and the dialogue is funny as hell. The only thing that kind of sucks is the fact that you can't really understand the dialogue for like 10 minutes due to their thick Scottish accents. Sting makes a guest appearance as the father of the troubled kid. I haven't met one guy who doesn't like this movie.
    • 7. Strictly Ballroom
Another one by Baz Luhrman. This one is also a Romeo and Juliet type of movie but it takes place in the world of Ballroom Dancing where the plain zit faced girl gets the guy at the end. The setting is cheesy and the soundtrack is pretty much from the 80's but it's still a great romantic movie.
    • 6. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet
Despite the fact that Claire Danes can't act, she was actualy pretty damn good in the role of Juliet opposite Leonardo DiCaprio who truly captured the essence of our favorite fallen hero Romeo. The concept of staying true to the words written by Shakespeare in a story that takes place in modern time is truly incredible. I know that everyone's read the book but this movie makes Shakespeare look like a really cool guy.The direction of the camera is amazing. Baz Luhrman's best movie.
    • 5. Never Been Kissed
Not a deep movie, but a fun movie that I think people of all ages can enjoy. Drew Barrymores best performance to date and the true introduction of Michael Vartan who plays the kind teacher. The dialogue is fast moving and you will find yourself laughing and crying at the same time. There are some pivotal scenes that will just make your heart crumble.
    • 4. Welcome to the Dollhouse
The movie is not afraid to show the truly bullshit side of being a 'loser' in todays society where little kids in pigtails and braces are truly little buttholes who can kill eachother with hateful words. I think every person who watches it no matter what kind of clique you belonged to in high school can truly relate to the character 'Weinerdog'
    • 3. Good Will Hunting
Cleverly written by Affleck and Damon, the sleeper hit made you think about life and the journey that one must take to fulfill ones dream no matter the outcome. The acting was superb.
    • 2. Braveheart
The movie had it all, drama, action, comedy...The movie was heartbreaking but the redemption at the end made the three plus hour movie worth seeing. What more can you ask for?
    • 1. Reservoir Dogs
Kick Ass Dialogue, Great Characters, great acting & Creative storyline
As you can see, my taste in movies ranges from romance, action to mystery. I appreciate all types of movies that make me a better person and more aware of the world, society I live in!! Rent these movies!

    • 10. Interview With the Vampire
One of the only Tom Cruise movies I like, great book too. I do think however, that the movie was better than the book.
    • 9. Primal Fear
More Norton, best surprise ending I think I've ever seen in a movie. And I don't even like Richard Gere.
    • 8. Being John Malkovich
Fucking cool ass movie, he's a puppeteer!!
    • 7. Silence Of the Lambs
Best thriller ever made. If anyone thought this was good, read Hannibal, the sequal, due out in February. Awesome book, really surprising.
    • 6. A Few Good Men
Powerful, I love court room movies. 12 Angry Men, Primal Fear, A Few Good Men, The Firm. All great, only this one is classic. "You can't handle the truth..."
    • 5. Too Wong Foo
Another great comedy. Swayze in a dress, c'mon. Does it get better?
    • 4. Waynes World
Funniest movie ever made. Classic, no matter who you are. Pokes fun at all of us. Next to Monty Python's Holy Grail, it's the greatest comedy ever.
    • 3. Fight Club
Completely unpredictable based on the advertising done for it. Everyone just wanted to see Brad Pitt with his shirt off, but it's so much cooler than that. Norton seems to pick roles like that. Plus, despite his sex-symbol stature, Pitt really is a great actor. Never seen a bad Pitt movie. Oh, well, except Seven Years In Tibet.
    • 2. American History X
Symbolic in every way. Totally dynamic, excellent acting. One of the best put together movies ever made. Tasteful and predictable, but thank god for it. Plus Edward Norton is an incredible actor.
    • 1. Pulp Fiction
The best movie ever made, even if Quentin Tarantino did direct it. Breathed life back into Travolta's career. Plus, the beginning scene when Jules and Vincent give Brad and his friends a talking to is one of the best scenes ever, in any movie.
