      Green Day at there height.
    • 8. Plush by Stone Temple Pilots
You all know it and love it.
    • 7. Creep by Radiohead
Radiohead, one of the greatest bands of all time that people love to hate. Though most people dont like them because of there non-POP attitude and non-mainstream sound. This song was one of there best (Only?) "mainstream" songs.
    • 6. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
      Another classic from the 90's.
    • 5. Killing In The Name by Rage Against the Machine
Rage Against the Machine was the voice of Generation X.
    • 4. Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana
Nirvana was "The" band of the 90's. They sum it all up.
    • 3. Black by Pearl Jam
Basically the entire album "Ten" could be in this spot.
    • 2. Hurt by Nine Inch Nails
      Enough said.
    • 1. Aenima by Tool
One of the best bands in the world. There best and latest album of the 90's. Little did we know better was to come in Lateralus of the 2000's.

Some great bands were born in the 90's including: Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Tool, Radiohead, Green Day, Counting Crows, NIN (well '89), Offspring, and the list goes on. Early 90's eas great for music, It was all down hill after that. Sadly the birth of mayjor sellout Boy Bands and Girl Bands was to come.

    • 10. w.y.s.i.w.y.g by Pitchshifter
What? never heard this song? if there is one thing you do before you die, listen to it. Can't even explain how utterly amazing this song is. But no ones heard it so its number 10
    • 9. Nothing else matters by Metallica
Very powerful slow metallica song (if there is such a thing). Very deep lyrics, it should be higher on the list but i forgot about it and im not changing it now
    • 8. When I Come Around by Green Day
Kind of a "semi-ballad". For me it's the highschool anthem

Awesome song with great lyrics. about a kid who killed himself in class, or something along those lines.
    • 6. 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins
Another teenage rebellion song, not as hard or tough as Nirvana but still brings back memories

The ultimate punk song, Blink 182 and all them other pop-punk bands are were they are now because of this song

Thanx for reading my top ten
    By: Cliff Crumpton
    • 10. Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve
So good, Miramax even asked to use it in the Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Philippe flick, Cruel Intentions. This movie and song, complimented each other well in the box office.

    • 8. Satelite by Dave Matthews Band
Nope, not Ants Marching, or Crash; I haven't heard guitar like this since, Joe Walsh, Glen Fry, Don Henly, and Bruce Hornsby got together 25 years ago.
    • 7. Peaches by Presidents of the United States
Million of Peaches=Millions of Dollars. These guys unloaded an arsenal in the mid-90's with, Lump, Kitty, Dune Buggy, and Peaches- far and away their best.
    • 6. Long View by Green Day
The first of many singles for Billy Joe and the guys, call it beginners luck? It all depends what you think of the rest of thier music. It even features Billy Joes newly born son in the back ground, can anyone top that?
    • 5. The Freshman by The Verve Pipe
The Freshman lasted longer on the Billboard than any other for the mid 90's....well until 5 or so years later when Celine Dion's Heart went on...and on....
    • 4. What's Up by Four Non Blondes
So it had a terrible video, and the band wasn't together much longer than the "New Radicals," but this catchy toon had more air play than just about any song for one whole summer, it was deserving.

The Proclaimers, a true one hit wonder, but this is one we will always know, if you like it or not.
    • 2. Everybody Hurts by R.E.M.
A band with many hits, but this is their best one.

From one of the most under-rated bands ever, will always be a classic, the best of the 90's.

Honorable Mention goes out to these close calls: Black Hole Sun- Sound Garden, Long December- Counting Crows, Sugar Ray- Fly, Knock On Wood- Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Crazy Game of Poker- Of A Revolution(O.A.R.)

I been down hearted baby! A masterpeice.

This song explores so many different sounds with Reznor sounding austonishing on lead vocals, the video is also worth a peak.

This is the groups best release of the 90's (not of all time). But this is a u2 classic!
    • 5. Come As You Are by Nirvana
This song although not my favorite, is the bands best. Of course Smells like teen Spirit is the one that introduced the to the world, but i think this one is their best.
    • 4. Honey by Moby
Moby's remixing talents really emerge on this track, which i think is the bands undisputed masterpeice.
    • 3. Intolerance by Tool
The instrumentals on this song are just amazing. A must see live show!
    • 2. Closer by Nine Inch Nails
The song is mixed to perfection. The beat and the vocals go so well together. The video also adds alot to the song.
    • 1. Loser by Beck
When the song came out it kicked ass. And now it still kicks ass. And it is responcible for the emergance of one of the great artists of our time, BECK!
