What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?

    By: El Diablo
    • 10. Tonight by Smashing Pumpkins
Definately one of the best bands of the 90's. I could have chosen so many of their songs but this is my favourite because of the passion right at the end of the song.
    • 9. Weak by Skunk Anansie
Another one of the best bands of the decade. Skin has one of the best, most powerful female voices ever. No-one does angry rock like Skunk Anansie.
    • 8. I Would Do Anything For Love by Meatloaf
I love this song, especially the beginning with the Harley roaring. The lyrics are great.
    • 7. Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
Superb song. I wish Metallica had tried to do more songs like this one.
    • 6. Zombie by The Cranberries
A very powerful and moving song. Dolores O'Riordan's haunting voice at it's best.
    • 5. The Show Must Go On by Queen
Queen are the best band ever and this song was one of Freddie's finest moments, sung just shortly before he died.
    • 4. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
What can I say about this one that hasn't already been said? Im not a big Nirvana fan but this was clearly one of THE songs of the decade.
    • 3. Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
Such an awesome song. A pity the rest of their music sucked. This one contains one of my favourite lines: "Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive"
    • 2. I'll Stand By You by Pretenders
The best song by a great band. Chrissie Hine has IMO the best female singing voice ever. Passion in a song is what does it for me.
    • 1. November Rain by Guns And Roses
My best song of the decade. I'll never grow tired of it. Slash on guitar, Axl's voice and lyrics that talk right to your soul.

I'd love to hear what you all think of my selection. Let me know at diablo390@hotmail.com cheers

    By: Jason
    • 10. I Will Survive (remake) by Cake
Cake is a very under rated band, and to take a classic song and put it into their own style and not do any harm to the song is very hard to do. (unlike puff daddy or whatever you call him. he ruins every song he even thinks of redoing.)
    • 9. Bombshell by Ratm
      what can i say....great song
    • 8. Saw Red(acustic Version) by Bradley Nowell
probably the best acustic song i have ever heard in my life. Brad puts so much emotion into his lyrics, and that emotion can also be felt in his guitar playing.
    • 7. Basket Case by Green Day
for alll of you that are shaking your heand in disagreement, you were the ones that probably like the song the most when it came out. then when people told you it was "trendy" you hopped right on the "lets hate green day band wagon." think back at how much impact that song had on people.
    • 6. Everybody Hurts by Rem
i am not a big fan of rem but there is something about that song.
    • 5. Ill Communication by Beatie Boys

    • 2. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
awesome song by an awesome band. to bad he is not around anymore.(just for the record i am not one of those people who worship him and think he is alive somewhere, but he was talented. and to those people who think he is still alive........get a life."
    • 1. Badfish by Sublime
for those of you that have never had the privilege of hearing the 40 oz to freedom cd go get it. you will never want to lisiten to the radio again.those three guys from sublime have done more for music today(the 90's up to the present) than anyone i can think of off the top of my head. they have a song for any taste of music. they are one of the only bands that cannot be put in a certain group of music. they are great mainly because of bradley nowell. he was a master mind of bringing together all kinds of music into one song and making it sound great.
