By: Sven Burger
- 10. Kerosene Hat by Cracker
If you want a depressing, slow, rainy-day song... you just can't top this one. Especially when the guitar solo kicks in. Trust me.
- 9. Falling to Pieces by Faith No More
Even Mr. Bungle fans agree, this song rocks!
- 8. Going to Pasalaqua by Green Day
Though most have included such radio-friendly hits as "Basket Case" and "Time of Your Life" in their compilations, I think this track of from their first album really captures what Green Day was once capable of.
- 7. Disorder by Ice T & Slayer
One of the first Rap / Rock infusion compliations that I know of, this soundtrack from 'Judgement Night' has one of the better furniture-smashing cuts of the 90's. This one is also better when played very loud. You don't have to like Ice T to appreciate it, either.
- 6. Horse by Live
I've lost track of Live over the years, but this hidden track on Throwing Copper was one of my favorites. Sounds kinda country, but because it's Live I don't mind.
- 5. Girlfriend by Matthew Sweet
Admittedly, this doesn't fit with the others, but this is one of those that I have to include here. For those that saw the video, bonus points for visual cool.
- 4. Happiness in Slavery by Nine Inch Nails
From the Broken Album, this takes the cake for industrial goodness, if you're into that sort of thing. My only advice for this one is to play it loud.
- 3. Fallen Souls by Ours
I had the luck to run across this band, and it probably classifies as early 90's, but I strongly suggest looking these boys up. Very moody. Almost creepy... sort of a slow-motion acid trip.
- 2. Bullet in Your Head by Rage Against the Machine
This album was filled with great songs, but this was one of my very favorites... nothing like getting angry to this classic.
- 1. Third Eye by Tool
For fans of this song, and also anyone who was lucky enough to hear it live, then you may join me in declaring this an epic masterpiece.
Think for yourself, question authority.
