      Was a huge hit in Australia, for a band that is huge in Australia. So what if they haven't cracked America yet?

      Green Day proved punk bands CAN be versatile with this huge hit.
    • 2. Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve
      Hey, they may not've written it, and they may've got into trouble for using the symphonic background music, but it's still a great song.
    • 1. The Impression That I Get by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
      Ska had a period where it was big in the 90s. This song signifies that. Must've heard it a gazillion times but still turn the radio up when it's on.

    I left out a lot of ska and punk and Aussie music that I like, because it will never count as "great" even if the music was, indeed, "great".

      probably the only song you retards have ever heard by this amazing band get "the cowboy song" its a thousand times better

      This guy almost singlehandedly brought back glam

      I absolutely LOVE this song. Most People Haven't heard it.

      Not The Best Nirvana Song, but ^the^ ninties Song.

    Theres so many other great songs. SO MANY. These were just the ones I could think of right now.

      This band, also highly underrated, prooves that real punk can still provoke general interest.
    • 9. Heart-Shaped Box by Nirvana
      You had to know I couldn't simply ignore Nirvana. Again, I like a lot of their songs, this is just my personal favorite.
    • 8. Longview by Green Day
      Whether they made punk more pop or made pop more punk, you simply can't ignore that what they did was a truly unique thing at the time. Love the intro to this song.
    • 7. Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam
      Not their most famous song, but my favorite. Also, possibly the least comprehensible of their songs.
    • 6. Machinehead by Bush
      No comment, just a good song.
    • 5. Loser by Beck
      Like Beck or not, this is a great song.
    • 4. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
      A great song with the most demented guitar solo I know of.
    • 3. Bullet with Butterfly Wings by Smashing Pumpkins
      Honestly, everyone has to know this song.
    • 2. Turn My Head by Live
      The most underrated band I know of. When I first started listening to them, I knew one or two songs I liked. Then I found out all these other songs that I liked were actually Live songs. This is my personal favorite.
    • 1. Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots
      Quite simply the best song from the best band.

    Really hard choices there. Runners-up: Would? by Alice in Chains, Violet by Hole, Breathe by Prodigy, Creep by Radiohead, Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine, In the Meantime by Spacehog, Volcano Girls by Veruca Salt, and Buddy Holly by Weezer.
