By: ColdBain
- 10. Tonight, Tonight by Smashing Pumpkins
Cool song, though considering all my Smashing Pumpkins mates, this is the only song I really know of theirs, but is on my favourite top ten list. Quite a cool song, and love the video to it even/ better
- 9. Crossroads by Bone Thugs 'N Harmony
I love the entire song, the first time I heard it I was kinda tranfixed, it was one I heard when I was like, 10 years old, and there is this one line where one of the fellas goes "I don't wanna die..." that really hit me, so it's been an emotional favourite, *sniff*
- 8. Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd
I don't think it's quite '90s' but it's another favourite of mine, quite alternative, but hey, there isn't anything wrong with that
- 7. Stripsearch by Faith No More
Faith No More again, just a neat little song with funky techno 'bops' and so on. Love the line 'F for Fake', dunno why...I like wacky and 'open' lyrics
- 6. Wish by Nine Inch Nails
I was a bit caught between Starf**kers Inc, Head like a Hole and Mr. Self Destruct for this spot, but I think 'Wish' is another one of my favourites, for a long while actually. I liked this song before I even knew it was done by Nine Inch Nails.
- 5. Can't Happen Here by Stabbing Westward
Yet another 'album conclusion' song, this from Stabbing Westward's first album, 'Ungod'. It was good to listen to, and it seemed to change direction of where the 'music was going' up until the point where Chris Hall starts singing. I love the repetition of the line "When everytime I close my eyes..."
- 4. Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
Nothing Else Matters was the song that really opened the door for me into Metallica's world, I of course went onto other songs like The Unforgiven and so on after hearing this, so yeah. Very moving as well.
- 3. Epic by Faith No More
I don't know what does it for me with this song...the guitar solo, the change in Mike Pattons voice, or the piano at the end, whatever it is, Epic has been a favourite of mine ever since a little kid.
- 2. Waking Up Beside You by Stabbing Westward
The last song on Stabbing Westward's third album, Darkest Days, again, it's a 'concluding album' song, which I thought was quite a stunner.
- 1. Hurt by Nine Inch Nails
I sat through the entire Downward Spiral in discomfort, but once 'Hurt' came on and played itself out, the entire album seemed to come into focus for me, so it was really a great song that could be taken in on so many different levels. (I love The Downward Spiral now of course)
I can say that these are my favourtie 'top ten' but the list does change and go on, these are just songs I've found I an go back to after everything and every fad I go throgh, so blah, fun fun, music is still good
