What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?

    By: Devin Cohen
    • 10. What I Got by Sublime
Great song with great memories attached, released shortly before the death of Brad Nowell, one of the musical geniuses of the 90's
    • 9. Fake Plastic Trees/Creep by Radiohead
it's impossible to break this tie. both songs are so different yet so beautiful in many ways.
    • 8. Aenima by Tool
Not nearly as widely known as Schism, but a very awesome song, which served as tool's "anthem" as far as their lyrics go...aenima pretty much sums it up. The guitar solo almost brings me to tears.
    • 7. Monkey Wrench by Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters are and have always been really great song writers, Dave Grohl really knows what he's doing, obviously.
    • 6. Pardon Me by Incubus
one of the very few great songs of the late nineties in a time period of generally poor music, this was by far the most original thing i had heard when it was released
    • 5. Plush by Stone Temple Pilots
Often criticized of being a Pearl Jam ripoff, but i really love Stone Temple Pilots. Great song
    • 4. Jeremy by Pearl Jam
Also a favorite of mine growing up, pearl jam was an excellent band both creatively and instrumentally
    • 3. All Apologies by Nirvana
One of my favorite childhood memories was hearing this song on its release date on the radio...wow, i was 6. Beautiful, emotional, not much else i can say
    • 2. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
I was about 7 when this song was released, the video is VERY nostalgic. Beautiful, i love the guitar solo
    • 1. Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Timeless, a classic, (random buzzword here)...the beauty and emotion of this song just transcends words

I never see best of 90's polls...it's usually best of the past 25 years, which i'm sick of seeing. I've always wanted to fill out something that strictly focused on the 90's...and i was surprised (well, maybe i wasn't) to see that most of the songs i saw on other people's lists were songs i've always loved have always wanted to include in a list of my own.
