What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?

    By: Anthony Ray
    • 10. Boys in the Hood (cover) by Dynamite Hack
I know this song seems and odd selection for the top ten of the entire decade, but it was very innovative.
    • 9. How's it Gonna be? by Third Eye Blind
Another awesome college alt. rock acomplishment. Second best band of the genre,in my opinion.
    • 8. Lightning Crashes by Live
I just felt obligated to put this song on mylist.
    • 7. Mr. Jones by Counting Crows
College alt.rock at its best. The guys define the genre.
    • 6. Creep by Radiohead
I still remember the first time I heard this song.
    • 5. Losing My Religion by REM
Number one song of 1990 (or was it '91? hmmm) and among this band's greatest. I may have put Man on the Moon here instead had I been certain it was released in the '90s.
    • 4. Crossroads by Bone Thugs N Harmony
      Another great hip hop work.
    • 3. Ordinary World by Duran Duran
I've noticed this song is on a number of these lists. Any one who's heard (which I hope is everyone) should understand.
    • 2. Changes by 2 Pac
A powerful hip hop masterpiece. 2 Pac's greatest song,in my opinion.
    • 1. The Decline by NOFX
This was a tough decision for me. This song is great. Nearly 19 minutes of punk rock genius, and wasily the genre's best song to date.

Honorable mention: Soul Asylum's runaway Train; Elliot Smith's Miss Misery; Bruce Springstein's Secret Garden; among others.

    • 10. Waterfalls by TLC
      Amazing song. Amazing video.
    • 9. The Freshman by Verve Pipe
I remember sitting in the car w/ my sister when I was around eight (she was 16) and she had this song playing and I loved it. Now I truely understand it and it is one of my favorite. Plus, it's inpressive it's lasted this long.
    • 8. Don't Speak by No Doubt
Catchy song. Love it. Can you believe Tony was able to play the bass with Gwen up their singing about their breakup? Damn...
    • 7. I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith
      Legendary band. Incredible song.
    • 6. My Hero by Foo Fighters
"There goes my hero..." I think this is a great song for anybody whose hero has left them whether it be by death or if the person has lost their admiration of them or whatever. For me, it was Kurt Cobain and his death. (Actually I'm pretty sure Dave Grohl wrote this about Kurt, didn't he?)
    • 5. Stan by Eminem
I don't really like hip-hop, but I have to admit that this song was genius. Eminem is an incredible writer. The only rap artist I listen to.
    • 4. Good Riddence (Time of Your Life) by Green Day
"Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road. Time grabs you by the wrist (hand? I forget), directes you where to go..." I love this song.
    • 3. Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
This is one of my favorite songs (actually all of them are..). Really close to my heart (as corny as that sounds). "And I don't want the world to see me, cuz I don't think that they'd understand. When everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am."
    • 2. All Apologies (Live) by Nirvana
The emotion in Kurt's voice was heartbreaking. One of their best songs, as well as one of the best live performances (by anybody).
    • 1. Jeremy by Pearl Jam
I think everybody was touched by this song and music video. Very powerful.

Like Max (another writer on here), I only put one song per group because this would be filled w/ Nirvana and Pearl Jam.
