    • 10. I Will Buy You A New Life by Everclear

my ex didnt like this song, favored waltz with me, that may have been a factor in us breaking up.... women, *sigh*
    • 7. Friend Is A Four Letter Word by Cake
hrm, surprised at how few cake fans there are, were they not in the 90s? at any rate, fashion nugget is beautiful, the remakes of i will survive and perhaps, perhaps, perhaps are great, along with frank sinatra, the distance, and well the rest of their songs
    • 6. Good Riddance (time Of Your Life) by Green Day
i cant rave about this song enough, there has never been a better parting song, and most likely never will be
    • 5. Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls
for anyone who has ever felt they werent understood, slide is great too
    • 4. Last Kiss by Pearl Jam
havent seen this one as much as i wouldve expected, maybe im the only sucker who still thinks its perfect
    • 3. Bad//(or Most Of His Other Songs) by Michael Jackson
top selling artist of all time, yeah hes got some problems now, but ya cant deny his incredible talent, thriller, bad and dangerous will never be dethroned as the best pop collection ever
    • 2. Only Wanna Be With You by Hootie And The Blowfish
this song probably introduced me to the fact that there was talent outside michael jackson, also like let her cry
    • 1. Lithium by Nirvana
cmon guys, "today i found my friends, theyre in my head," is there a way you can not love this song?, it came down to lithium or in bloom for me, i love smells like teen spirit, but the other two mean a lot more to me, nevermind is still the best, and cobain is my hero

ok, i didnt want to do an honorable mention, bc it seems kinda cheap, but i have to have to have to say that the winter overture for the movie requiem for a dream should be on everyones playlists. looking at my list i seem to have omitted any rap and r&b, which is odd bc im a huge fan, but i really feel that in the 90s rap just wasnt up to par yet. same with techno, trance is my fix but individual songs dont seem as memorable to me.

Beautiful, and sad lyrics written by Chris Cornell for his friend Andy Wood of MOTHER LOVE BONE after he passed on. Great song, Great album, Great band! RIP Andy!
    • 1. Would? by Alice In Chains
This is the best song of the 90's in my mind. Alice In Chains was way underrated compared to Nirvana and Pearl Jam. And that was bullshit! Alice was the best of the Seattle bands, and I think they had the most talent! Great song, Great album, Great band!

As you can clearly see, I only like one genre of music... Rap is horrible in my mind!

    By: John Missirlis
    • 10. Jet City Woman by Queensryche
Great tune from one of my favorite bands from the 80's. Any number of songs from "Empire" could have taken this slot.
    • 9. Outshined by Soundgarden
Powerful. Fully displays Chris Cornell's range before he went soft. Yes, Audioslave is soft.
    • 8. Rearviewmirror by Pearl Jam
OK. So I guess I got caught up in the grunge movement.
    • 7. Aneurysm by Nirvana
Powerful underplayed tune from before Nirvana hit mainstream.
    • 6. It Ain't Like That by Alice In Chains
Great Riff! AIC plays this tune in the movie Singles.
    • 5. Mayonnaise by Smashing Pumpkins
Underrated song from the Pumpkins real best album Siamese Dream.
    • 4. Man in the Box by Alice In Chains
Hardcore angst from a group who's lead singer didn't die soon enough to become immortalized. Guitarist Jerry Cantrell, the real mastermind behind this excellent and diverse band is still going strong and will hopefully continue to put out great music.
    • 3. Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam
Classic Pearl Jam B-side. Who cares if you can't understand what Eddie's saying. That's what makes it so melodic and so perfect.

    By: Andy
    • 10. Barely Breathing by Duncan Sheik
His one and only commercial hit, this largely-unheard singer-songwriter has continued to write great music throughout the decade - light and breezy, but with a biting undercurrent
    • 9. Iris by Goo Goo Dolls
The album "Dizzy up the girl" is one of my favs and this song (their huge hit) is no standout - this speaks volumes for the quality of the cd.
    • 8. Under The Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers
This is a safe choice and almost anything on "californication" could have made the list as well. Who said popularity ruined a band.
    • 7. Scatman by Scatman John
This guy was a revelation, and I dont think we've heard music like this since - try and sing the lyrics if you dont believe me!
    • 6. Shimmer by Fuel
Great transition from soft to hard rock at the beginning, sets the tone for this classic. Check out "Innocent" as well.
    • 5. Streets Of Philadelphia by Bruce Springsteen
Although the 90s werent as fertile for Springsteen as the 80s, he did produce the occasional flash of past brilliance.
    • 4. Who Will Save Your Soul by Jewel
Before the transformation, Jewel sung simple, lyrical folk, like this.
    • 3. Losing My Religion by Rem
Almost any song on Automatic for the People or Out of Time could have made in into a top 10, but this is, undoubtedly, REM's best.
    • 2. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
Yes, it was damn influential, but take away the whole grunge movement history and you're left with a great song.
    • 1. One Of Us by Joan Osbourne
A one hit wonder, but what a hit! Moving and spiritual, I think it deserves a place at the top.

Just reflecting on what a great decade it was...ah, memories.
