Softest song I have ever heard...wow...

If you are alone, this is a great song to get you calm and sad...
    • 8. Gangsta Paradise by Coolio
      Rap was never the same...
    • 7. Dont Cry by Guns N Roses
To me, this is the saddest song ever written, and even the shots of Blind Melon's lead singer in the video will stay with you for awhile to come, after his death...the song is just...i dunno...this spot is a tie with Patience, another great song from them
    • 6. Tha Crossroads by Bone Thugs N Harmony
Haunting video, and a tribute to the only rapper in the same league as Tupac...Eazy E...anyone who understood Eazy E and his last year on earth would know how powerful this song is...this song will make you ponder about God
    • 5. Rape Me by Nirvana
Very controversial in its time, the reason for me putting this song on the list is simply because it was the best representative song of what Kurt was going through, and why he was going to quit music before he was murdered...Rape Me was all about the media putting pressure on an individual who eventually gave into it...
    • 4. Fell On Black Days by Soundgarden
Underrated song, Black Hole Sun is the more popular pick, but lets be honest, this song is great all the way around, and it can haunt you
    • 3. November Rain by Guns N Roses
Youngs guns at the time, put the passion into rap, but still making it stylish, if not for them, rock's passion would of faded sooner then it has...this song was just stunning, everything from the solo to the music itself...the video hit hard, too
    • 2. Changes by Tupac
A straightforward song by a straightforward indvidual, Tupac is and probably will always be the greatest rap artist of all time, Eminem and 50 Cent are fake and their message makes the ghetto look like a good thing...I live in a ghetto and Tupac started spreading the word better then anyone else that the ghetto is not fun, and the things that go on in them need to be stopped and understood
    • 1. Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana
Could be the greatest song ever made, the music haunts people even today, and the words speak volumes...

Also...Blind Melon - No Rain, REM - Losing My Religion, Nirvana - Come As You Are, Pearl Jam - Jeremy, Soundgarden - Head Down, Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun, Tupac - Wonder If Heaven's Got A Ghetto, Tupac - I Aint Mad Atcha, Tupac - Dear Mama, Tupac - The Good Die Young, Metallica - Unforgiven, Bush - Glycerin, Bush - Swallowed, Bush - Come Down, Naughty By Nature - Everythings Gonna Be Alright... Thats it for my list...R.I.P. Kurt, Pac

    • 10. Killing me Softly by Fugees
This song elevated R&B to higher skies. Our first taste of Lauryn Hill's real talent, of which she later gave plenty more demonstrations.
    • 9. Time of your Life by Green Day
The best song from the best punk band ever. If a persons' life were a movie, this is the song anybody would like to have as the soundtrack.
    • 8. You Oughta Know by Alanis Morissette
This song woke us all up to the sound of the nineties. Angst, frustration and grudge in one of the most raw confessions ever put in a song...and what better voice than Alanis' to do it!
    • 7. Zombie by The Cranberries
No way I could leave Dolores out of this list. "Zombie" is a song some world leaders should be receiving therapy with. Also one of the most powerful tunes in history.
    • 6. Everybody Hurts by REM
A trip to heaven to look down to the Earth and realize there's always something to live for
    • 5. The Beauty of Gray by Live
Extremely meaningful and powerful song that's all about embracing life, the world, and humanity as a whole...a lot to say in a single song
    • 4. Creep by Radiohead
A deep look at the frustrating, self-esteem wrenching, dark side of love, accompanied by masterful instrumentation.
    • 3. Wonderwall by Oasis
One of the most honest, open-hearted and beautiful love songs of all time.
    • 2. Mr. Jones by Counting Crows
A song that poetically digs up the hopes, the fears, and the feelings of the young people of the nineties, and reflects the heavy influence that mainstream media has on their lives.
    • 1. Losing my Religion by REM
This song has no paralell! In my opinion, one of the greatest demonstrations of craftmanship to ever take place in the world of music

Honorific Mentions: The nineties were just awesome for music, so most of these well deserve to be on that list, and if I were to do this at a different time, they probably would: Selling the drama by Live, Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode, Frozen by Madonna (I hate her, but that's a great song), Don't Cry/November Rain/Knockin' on heavens door by guns n' Roses, Come as you are/The man who sold the world by Nirvana, The world I Know by Collective Soul, Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio, You Learn by Alanis, One Headlight by The Wallflowers, Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton, Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead, Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers, 3a.m. by MatchBox 20, Torn by Natalie Imbruglia...I could just go on and probably spend a cuple of days writing, damn were the nineties great!!!
