What are your top ten favorite songs from the 90s?
By: Derek
- 10. Walking In Memphis by Marc Cohn
This is such a great piano song. Its a feel good tap your feet and sing along. Underrated and yes basically a 1 hit wonder, but its definetly a song that reminds me of the 90's
- 9. I Believe by Blessid Union Of Souls
This said so much about our world in the 90's. again underrated and I'm shocked I haven't seen many people put it in here. Powerful song
- 8. Wicked Games by Chris Isaak
This is such a beautiful sad song. It is a wicked game to love someone so beautiful and to lose someone so beautiful. "Nobody loves no one" is such a great ending lyric to the song.
- 7. Secret Garden by Bruce Springsteen
This is such an amazing song and such a ballad thats non typical of The Boss. It goes to show you just how good of a musician he is. I'm suprised this isn't on here more often
- 6. All I Want by Toad And The Wet Sprocket
A great song about Honesty and Truth. You can't help but feel the same way he does when he talks about wanting to feel this way and to be this close to someone. Again Underrated
- 5. Angel by Sarah Maclaclan
This is such a beautiful and emotional song. I think Sarah did an amazing job at capturing her heart and feelings at the time. Its amazing how a voice and a piano with jsut a touch of strings in the background can make such beautiful music. Very Underrated in the 90's
- 4. Name by Goo Goo Dolls
This is 100 times better than IRIS and I think it deserves the credit cause the Goo Goo Dolls would be nothing without this song. This song put them on the musical map. Beautiful song with that deserves more recognition
- 3. Far Behind by Candlebox
Another song that seems to not get its fair share. Although "You" could've been added, Far Behind seems to make more of a statement in my opinion
- 2. Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band
This song helped make Dave Matthews a Household name. Its not his best song by any means, but this song captured everybody in the 90's. "You wear nothing but you wear it so well..." So poetic as always.
- 1. Round Here by Counting Crows
Man I can't believe someone would leave this one out. This is one of the most powerful songs as far as suicide and losing someone you know. Their Live Acoustic/piano version is heart wrenching. Definetly one of the best
I go for the underrated songs. Yes the Smells like Teen Spirits and the Novemember Rains are brilliant songs and deserve the credit, but the songs I listed bring back great memories and I can remember events in the 90's that took place when I heard those songs
